When did you believe your hpt?

Hi, I'm Danielle. Some of you might remember me from the one thread. I had an ectopic pregnancy that ended in Oct. of last year. Well, this month I've had increasing darker 2nd lines on the internet cheapies. There still not dark, but they come up within a few minutes. I am 15 dpo today and other than a drop or two of brown on my underwear yesterday, no AF.

So, my real question is When did you believe your hpt? If I wasn't on this crazy ttc ride, I would have instantly just believed I was pregnant. I was going to do a blood test, but I'd rather just enjoy the few days of thinking I'm pregnant (we are going out of town).

My first hpt (at 13dpo) was a very light line. We were going on a two week vacation the next day, so I tested the morning we left and got another faint line. I was happy and pregnant during our trip. When we came back, I had one hpt left and used it and got a medium colored line.

I believed my very first test. I was also charting and my temps were up and started a triphasic pattern, so that helped me believe in my test too.

I'm just about 100% sure you are pregnant! I would enjoy your vacation, and maybe test again or get a blood test when you get back home but both are probably unnecessary. Congrats!

Thanks Jennie for responding! I so want to believe it! I am going to enjoy my few days in the city and after I get back I'll take a blood test. Hopefully I will get to join you all! My edd could be June 28,2005.

I'd love to hear from more of you. It makes me feel not so crazy to hear other people had faint lines too.

since i was working with a reproductive endocrinologist, i had blood work before i would have been able to get a positive hpt. i had gotten back 3 hcg levels (all great rises) and then i finally had the guts to take a hpt and it was one of those saveontests strips from online. the line was very faint, but i knew from bloodwork that my numbers were great.

just thought i would mention that. a line is a line. you are pregnant mama.

Hi Danielle, Believe the line

I tested at 9dpo and got a negative. I stared at that thing for about 20 minutes trying to conjure up a line but..nothing.

I tested again at 11dpo and there was the faintest of lines. I had to hold it up to the light but it was there and dh saw it, too. Emotionally, I held back believing but intellectually, I knew it. Plus, I had lots of symptoms and they were really obvious and similar to my last two pregnancies.

I belived the first test even though you almost had to imagine the line since it was so faint. It was there. I have the nausea to prove it.

I took my first test and it was neg. Then the next test was 3-4 days later and there was a definite line. I agree with PP - a line is a line and it is VERY rare to get a false positive. Have a great vacation and hope to "see" you when you get back.

A line is a line.... yup. I didn't believe the first test because it was sooooooo light -- thought it might be an evaporation line. Plus, my temp took a big dip the next day so I was sure AF was on her way ... but no! The next day I bought more expensive tests (the others were internet cheapies) and the line was ever-so-slightly darker.

Hi everyone! I am back from my trip and still no AF!! I am 17 dpo. I am going to get a blood test on Monday to confirm it. I hope that everything is good!! Thanks for all of your support ladies. I'll let you know how the blood test goes!
