No poo dandruff help

Thread Starter
I was inspired by the no poo group here. About 3 and a half weeks ago, I shaved all 26 inches of my hair off. I donated it to Wigs for Kids. Then I decided I would stop using shampoo. I haven't washed my hair all this time. Although my hair is short, I think it looks fine. I can't smell it myself since it's so short, but my husband says it doesn't smell bad. My problem is that it is really itchy and I have lots of dandruff. I looked at the recipes list but all I could find for dandruff was honey. I am vegan so that is not an option. Does anyone have any other vegan suggestions to reduce dandruff?

Thanks

Lauren

have you tried tea tree oil?

You might like scalp massages.

Baking soda gets rid of my dandruff.

Baking soda nixed my dandruff as well...I'd suggest you start off with a rather watery mix, and if that doesn't help, up the baking soda...(I use a toy watering can in the bath)...also, do the tea tree oil thing if bs doesn't work, or maybe even olive oil?
Baking soda alone really exfoliated my scalp by itself, though...
There's a post by veganmama here that goes really in-depth in regards to how to really "cleanse your scalp" with baking soda...you really have to take a little time massaging your scalp with your finger tips (not nails)...after I did this, my scalp actually "peeled" like my arms do after a sunburn...
It was weird, but my head and hair's healthier than it's ever been...
