Any tips for sewing wool jersey? I also think I am going to dye them. I was thinking of dip dying but I wouldn't call myself an "accomplished" dyer so I'm a little nervous to do that.

I'm making pants for the boys. But so scared I'm going to screw something up. I'm very new to sewing!

Tips?

I make my pants in 2 pcs rather than 4. Is much easier.
just measure ds;s waist, rise, thigh, angle and inseam.
fold fabric in half mark 1/2 of waist measurement, then measure a pair of pants you like on them for total long (waist to ankle; leaving 1" on each sice. mark this length. then at bottom on that line mark 1/2 ankle width. now go back to the tp and measure out inseam, making sure to add 1" mark that point with a dot. connect that dot to end of waist mark. then from the center dot to the ankle line. make 2
place right sides together and sew/serge sides together. turn right side out.
fold ankle edge and waist edge 1" and iron. cut your elastic and seam tigether. place inside fold and sew closed.
its so simple once you get used to it.
I do this with my pants (just made 4 pair), my ds's , dh and even made my dad a pair of boxers this way.
kinda fool-proof as long as you measured correctly
