anyone know of any size charts anywhere so i can see if i should just trash these?

That should be ok. The rise measument I got for longies was 14-16" for an 11 lb baby.

The Kissaluv size 0 has a 12" rise when it's snapped down. The Very Baby AIO has a 13" rise.

And those newborns are always tinier than you remember.

lol lol yes . I just am trying to get more dipes for right away than i had with ds2. poor kid drownd in every single diaper until he was 10-12 weeks, which means we had a few blow-outs and i so want to prevent that again

You could also make some prefolds for that tiny stage -- I used some of dh's old t-shirts (just what I want to see -- an alien on the butt of my ds's dipe! :LOL), and they came out really cute! Check out fern & fairie's page on "frugal diapering;" she has some really cute ideas. And that way, I could have something cute, but not spend a lot of $$ on something that will only last a couple months...
