Hi, I thought I would chime in with my experience. I have been using family cloths for about 8 months. I could not convince dh either. I feel so weird when I go out and have to use TP now. I also totally love using family cloths.
Here is what I do. I made mine using Quilter's Flannel/terry(like from a baby's hooded towel). Everyone will have a different preference. After trying many variations, this is my favorite. I did not have a serger before so I just sewed then turn and topstitched. I place them in all bathrooms in a little tote made by Sterile and it has a handle. After one is soiled, I put it in a uncovered wastebasket for this use only. On laundry day, I tip the wastebasket full of soiled family cloths into the laundry basket and wash w/ the towels. I wash about every 3 days or so and have never had a stink issue.
It is so easy and no extra work at all.

you are so my hero. I am
b/c I can totally see the shocked look on the maids' faces. Remember when I gave birth there and I told you about how *shocked* they were at my adamant refusal to give dear babe any formula. They thought I was out of my freaking mind!! Like, who are these nutty Americans?
: -ing. I want a full report on this, however, the next time I see you.
