Not sure of baby's position

I was laying in bed this morning and the baby started moving around and I could feel something round and hard, not sure if it was the butt or the head, on my lower left side. This is definitely the wrong place for either. This baby has been in the perfect position for weeks. Okay, as I'm posting this, babe is moving again and I'm feeling the bottom (I think) up at the top of my belly again. Hmmm... Not sure what's going on here. Whatever I felt earlier couldn't have been the head or the butt if the baby was still engaged in the right delivery position. I'm a little nervous since I'm getting so close here.

I would assume that since you are so far along that they babe wouldn't change from head down. I bet its the butt! My babe has a big one! lol

my doc "said" he was in head down position she could tell from feeling. So I hope she is right. Most of my guys movements are up and to my side, which makes me feel like they are feet, legs, etc...

Alisha, I was going through this same thing all last week. It was really annoying. I couldn't identify what I was feeeling and regardless of what it was, it was in the wrong place! Sometimes it felt like the baby was sideways. I don't know what they're doing in there... I'd bet that your baby is staying head down though. Its probably just pivoting from side to side. Mine finally stopped moving so much and now goes from posterior to having its back on the left. Good luck! Maybe some pelvic rocking and haning out on your hands and knees would help.

Thanks for the support mamas! DH laughed at me and said I'm worrying too much. I probably am. Since I've been up, I've felt most of the movement at the top of my belly, butt and legs moving around. It was just early this morning that the movement was in the wrong spot, but I guess these babes are really flexible, so who knows.

Alisha,

My midwife just taught my daughter and dh how to tell the difference at our last appointment. If you can get ahold of both sides and wiggle it a little, if all of the baby moves back and forth it is the behind if just that part moves it is the head.
I just had dh checking things out last night because I felt movement in weird places.
