OMG! Yay! I actually got teary-eyed over her birth. We've all been together for the past 9 months and I've been anxiously awaiting the first November baby, and here she is! Congrats!

Ty to all! I actually went into the hospital on Oct. 13, after being in the doc's office and having found out my b/p was a little high, they had me go in, followed by a 24 hour urine watch(to look for high blood pressure values),that turned out to be in the moderate range,not to mention each time they checked my b/p by the cuff, it was high too. Doc said that its time to induce,so, there it all started...they started inducing me on that Friday, around 12 noon or so, we waited until about 8 in the evening with no change in my cervix. Boy, everybody thought that all I would need to do is sniff the Pitocin,let alone have it injected into me to give birth quickly(). I also found out that I was GBS + which I did not know about as well.Anyways, at that point, the doc on call came in to see me and told me that they would turn down the drip low so I could get some more sleep and try again tomorrow(ya right). So, Saturday's here, its 5:30 in the morning, they have now started raising the levels of Pitocin in my I.V., contractions resume, my doc comes in sound 9 or so in the morning, checked me, I was 3 centimeters(I was 2 the night prior),so, he decided to rupture the membranes to get things moving quicker(I really did'nt want him to do this and now know why :eyeroll) After this was done, he asked if I wanted an Epidural, I said yes, only cause I was being induced and I've been induced with all my kids except one and its just totaly painful to go through not to mention that it was my 8th baby I was delivering! So, onto the anethesiologist:she comes, she starts the process of the epi, when as I'm leaning on the nurse and cannot move(they make my dh leave cause its considered a sterile procedure ) the baby's heartrate had dropped very low,she started rubbing my belly and said this baby like stimulation, I'm just horrified at this moment and I later learned that her heartrate went into the 40's! Never even seen a fetal heart rate go that low! Back to the epi, they finish,lay me flat on my back, and we wait, the nurse checks me again...no change. My doc came in and he was looking at the monitor strip, and he too checked me, no change..he noticed the dips in her heartrate and informed me if this is going to contiune, I would need a section. I told him I understood, and he left again. The nurse was there with me and dh and I again kept hearing that drop in her heartrate, I remember asking the nurse if my doc was still there or not,she was like, oh yes, he is here. My doc came back in, looked at everything again and announced it was time to shut everyting down and have the baby via c-section. I was quite nervous to say the least, I've never had one before and I know how weak my muscles are in my belly for starters.
Off to the O/R:
They wheel me in this what it seemed to be a small O/R room, nurses are all in there getting ready for me, the doc for the meds was right there asking if I could feel a little prick she made on my stomach, I said yes, still not knowing what it was, I told her if felt like she was sticking me with a thumbtack,she proceeded to inject me with more medicine in my epi. My doc comes in, just as he was to begin,he also asked if I could "feel this" I said yes,it feels like its sharp. The other doc proceeded to inject more into my epi.( I think she had to do this a total of 4-5 times!) She told me they already started and that it would'nt be much longer at all. Me, trying not to shake cause I was so cold, tried to relax, one nuse said,ok,your going to feel this, and she pushed on the top of my uterus to help expel the baby out,boy, was that ever uncomfortable. My doc finished delivering her and let me have a quick peek at the top of the screen. I held dh's hand the entire time,I was so petrified! I told him he can go over to the baby, I would be ok, so, finally, he did,and he went with them after they let me kiss her real quick.
Off to the recovery room, I was resting numbfully, and waited for dh to come in to tell me all about our new dd. He told me that they are watching her temp. cause she was born at 36 weeks. She weighed in at 5lbs. 8 oz. and was 17 in. long! She's so tiny!!!
