I have been a mad pant maker, knitting, sewing, wool, cotton, alterations, etc...

Take a look

Awesome work Mama! You are an inspiration to me and all my half-finished projects and ideas! :LOL I especially love the patchwork and the green longies. What yarn did you use for those?

Everything is gorgeous! I was just thinking I really have to figure out how to sew milo some pants. I have some nice velour and camel colored sherpa and hemp fleece that I think would make great play pants, but I can't get myself to start. <<sigh>> But those pictures are inspiring! Maybe today is the day. My faves are your dyed wool experiment. What pattern did you use for the sewn pants?

Jayne.

The green is http://www.theyarnco.com/brand_display/16
it is very "tweedy" and hides mistakes nicely!

The dye was a disaster. I wanted solid brown and am still not sure what I did wrong :LOL They really do look cool in person though. I left the unsewn to create a rolled look.

I just traced a pair of pants onto fabric and cut and modified on my little model.

Love them! The green longies are awesome and the patchy pants are too cool!
I keep saying I'm going to make some pants too but you know how it goes....

Great job mama! I would love to try to sew some pants for my son. Where did you buy that gorgeous Italian wool? It's like Tabitha's Toot Sweet wool!

D'oh! I was hoping it was the new conceptions baby basics pattern, which I have had for ages, but not made. I love the shape of them.

Yup, I am pretty sure it's the same stuff.

We lived in San Francisco and visit at least once a month for food/yarn/fabric!

I'm totally inspired. I just bought some wool jersey for pants and am scared to death. I don't know what I'm doing. I've never sewn pants before. Thought I would practice on cotton, first. But I gotta hurry before winter is here!

And I love the patchy pants. What kind of fabric is that?

Great job! I have tried to make dd pants once and they looked great except they did not fit over her huge tush. The green longies are my favorite but the patchwork ones look fun too.

I dont know where the patchy fab is from, I got it at amitymama.com (sewing board)

The pants look sorta funny in pix b/c the butt is so roomy.

This was my 2nd sewing project. First was a pouch/sling
post #15 of 21
Ooo... can I hire you to be my seamstress? I have been online all morning looking at pouch patterns, lol!

As long as you're the same size as me I dont know if I can modify my pattern!

BTW, you need to post some CD pix of Stella in the CD forum. You had the best CD fashion show photos ever!

Those patchy pants are grrreat. Tell me you didn't piece each patch together but bought patchy material instead. What pattern did you use? Those velour ones are pretty cool too.
