Unemployed DH's

Thread Starter
I was just noticing that more than one of us have dh's who are unemployed right now. I am having a really hard time having fun getting ready for this baby because I am beginning to think dh will never find a job and the baby was maybe not such a good idea.

Dh does work temporary projects but we do not have insurance and they don't pay very well.

I guess the insurance thing isn't such a big deal because we paid our midwife out of pocket but it would be one less thing to worry about.

Am I a terrible mom or what?

Nope, not a terrible mom at all. It's a stressful situation. I keep trying to remind myself that everything will be OK; I do all right with one thing going wrong at a time, but lately it feels like the sky is falling. . . right on our heads. Ours is sort of an unusual situation of a voluntary taking of time off gone terribly awry.

But you aren't alone. There are a few moms here with dh's out of work. There are also a few of us without insurance (I just found out we didn't have any at 37 wks pregnant -scary). And, I'm sure you aren't alone in wondering if having another little one was a wise choice in this situation (I get flashes of "What have we done?!?!?) So no, you aren't alone. And you aren't a terrible mother. Pregnancy and the thought of an new life are stressful . . . husbands out of work are stressful . . . combining them is just adding alittle bit of extra stress we don't necessarily need or want right now but we'll all get through it somehow. We're almost there. It's the end of October; not too much longer.
