Feel funny

I woke up last night having contractions, which I do all the time, but this time I felt like I'd swam too deep in a pool and was clawing my way up to the surface out of air. I was taking slow deep breathes but my chest felt all tight and compressed and I was shaking. I thought labor must be coming and this was just some wierd thing I hadn't done before but the contractions stopped and I went back to sleep.

This morning I didn't feel right as soon as I got up but I had things to do. I feel dizzy, lightheaded, swirly. Just strange. I thought maybe I needed a nap. But I just got up and now my hands are slightly swollen but bright red with white spots. I feel like I'm shaking, but I'm not. When I hold my hand up and look at it, it's still but I feel like it's shaking. I checked my blood pressure (my father had high blood pressure so he has a machine) the top number is normal but the bottom number is up 20 points higher than usual. Not sure what that means.

Don't worry, I already called the Dr. They're seeing me in a few hours. Now we're just trying to figure out logistics. My mom would normally watch the kids but she has a dr's appt and had already left work so we can't call her (her cell phone is on the counter ). The only woman I know well enough to have watch the kids just had a baby on Friday. Guess we're taking them with us - dh doesn't want me driving down all shaky alone. I'll let you know what's up.

Sounds kinda scary...I sure hope everything is ok. I've been feeling my Braxton Hicks contractions more in my chest/breathing than I do in my belly...not sure if there's a relation there or not...
good luck and keep us posted!

I hope everything is okay. It sounds to me like one of my blood sugar episodes. I have problems like that with a diabetic grandfather and a hypoglycemic dad even when I am not pregnant.
Hopefully they will check you for that.

Take care.

Well everything is OK. I have some little person's little body part pushing on my adrenal gland so I'm having major fight or flight symptoms from adreneline rushes. No harm, just annoying. Sweating, then cold. Shaking, then still. Heart racing, then normal. Wierd. But everything is fine, basically the dr told me just to try to stay calm and take deep breathes when the chest tightness starts. All this will pass when the baby moves or I give birth.

how scary!!!! I have never heard of that happening. It really is amazing to think of how we grow these babies in a space that usually has nothing there! I'm soo glad everything is okay!!!!!!!

That sucks! I'm so sorry!!! I think you and I are close in our due dates, and I've actually woken up with that REALLY short of breath thing. It was scarry. I wonder if it was the same thing? Luckily, mine went away in about an hour. Hopefully the little one will shift enough to get off that gland. yuck. The things we do for our children! haha Good Luck!

Well I guess if you cram something that big into a space usually occupied by other things something is bound to get smooshed; I've just never heard of this one. This was day two of shaking, sweating, panicking, swelling then slumping when it's all over. I had about six of these adreneline surges last night and throughout today. A few more days of this and I might be heading down the self-induction route. I have 8 days till my edd but castor oil is starting to look really tempting.

You have to love pregnancy though; it makes you discover the most amazing things about the human body
