Sorry I haven't been around. My DSL at work has been down and I've been having to actually work (gasp!) I'm off fridays so here I am at home

I borrowed a new native when my DD was little and it worked fine. I think it was a medium, they come sm/med/lg and she is was a small baby (6lbs 10 oz at birth) I could put a small blanket under her to raise her up a bit in the pouch. I bought a medium a little after a year and used it some. She really wanted to walk once she could so it didn't see much use. You can use it for quite a while (child cooperating) as they can sit in it facing you, straddling your hip. I am going to make a Maya wrap and a pouch (thanks for the pattern sites everyone!) the pouch sounds really easy. That way I can custom fit using my DDs bitty baby as a model!

Shalena - so gald your back home. That is a much better environment for you and the baby.

My boob have gotten a bit more tender, no colostrum yet but my nipples are getting more upright. Although they have always been after nursing for so long with DD.

Have a great weekend all and don't forget to vote. My ballot is already in the mail!

For all my bloatiness I am still an innie, although it's much smaller than it used to be. I can tell because the bottom hole of my navel piercing, which has always been well inside my belly button, is now several millimeters above it. If I stick my finger in it seems much more shallow.

such emotional ups and downs. the last post on this thread of mine, i was in one rotten mood. kind of depressed, kwim?

well i feel better today. i started to pencil in a birth plan quite some time ago, so now i am going back over it and am going to slowly finalize it. it will be good to see my midwife and ask her some questions as well as tell her what i have decided on so far.

i cant wait to have this baby. i have told my work that i am done on the 19th of nov. that gives me three more weeks of work and then 3 weeks of nesting time

there are plenty of things to do during that time too....make a sling, diaper liners, crochet some soakers, and just plain organize all the baby clothes and things. i cant wait though

the other night, my belly gurgled really loud and very long. like nothing i can remember happening before. but i think it scared the baby! during this loud gurgle, that baby was flopping all over and immediately settled down once it was over. that really helped put the whole 'theres a real, live human being inside of me' realization into focus.

i have been having this unsettling, yet slight belly ache on and off for a couple of weeks. sometimes it is accompanied by diahhrea (i know, tmi), have any of you experienced this? im curious if its morning sickness, as they like to call it, or if ive caught some sort of extended bug. idk, but it makes sleeping really uncomfortable because my belly is so upset.

have a good weekend ladies...and happy halloween!!

I have never gotten an outie. With the first baby I got a near flatty but...

I ahve heard of that staerile water block. I am just nervous about the whole spinal injection thing. If I was going to take the risk of paralyzing myself I would at least want to be guaranteed a pain free birth!

I have a flattie. DH can't wait for it to "pop" -- but I'm 34 weeks, so maybe it won't.

A couple of days ago, UUElisabeth posted about her birth art. I wanted to comment on it -- sounds like a powerful picture, and it seems like you have a lot of insight into how you feel about the medicalization of birth. I love the image of the green goddess, and wondered if you were aware that green corresponds to the fourth chakra, and compassion?? So you're looking at this compassionate, heart-centered female, trusting her for guidance as you take this huge step/jump. SO COOL.

Shalena, so glad to hear you're home! And baby is still tucked safe inside you.

Kristeen, at least now you're aware of that site, in case you have a big flare-up of bowel problems or other symptoms after you've had the baby. The diet and products are worth a shot and won't hurt you either way. I lost weight so easily too as an added bonus! And there are so many symptoms listed on that site, but candida shows up differently for everyone. And probably no one has them all.

I have been so exhausted tonight. I was ready to go to bed at like 8 pm and we didn't even get up until 10 am. :yawning:

And ds is snotting all over the place! Literally. I am so sick of wiping his nose and little puddles all over the house from his explosive sneezing. And he tells me his throat hurts. I hope he feels good enough tomorrow to go trick-or-treating! This will be his first year.

I am going to go over and look on a breastfeeding board, but do any of you have recommendations for nursing "sleep" bras? The ones I had with Aidan were cheap and were way too long in the straps, so I ended up putting safety pins in them to make them fit right and then I ended up with all this extra fabric bunched up on my shoulders. : I suppose if I was handy with the sewing machine I could have shortened them. But I don't even have a sewing machine. So is anyone short like me (5'3") and found a comfortable sleeping bra that they didn't have to alter in some way to make it work???

Sorry I havent been around much.. nesting was driving me crazy, and then into PTL apparently! Things here are ok now. 33 weeks tomorrow, have gained 32lbs total, and Vivien still wiggles ALL of the time!
My mom will be coming in from KY to help out and be here for the birth, but we weren't planning on her flying in until 12/5. Not sure now if I should suggest she come a lil early. Just dunno about these babies of mine always trying to come early!
I would be interested in a good nursing bra, too. I have always just made due with whatever I could find that fit reasonably well, but they were always umcomfy and looked icky!
I haven't had the chance yet to read all of the posts.. but will go back and do it over the next few hours. Sending good Karma to all of those who are getting closer!!!

I actually bought another new nursing bra yesterday with a gift certificate my brother got me for my birthday. I was so excited when I found it. It's an olga nursing bra and it was only 14 dollars!! They are on sale right now at Kohls. And super comfy underwireless and flattering.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this before, but what about a Bravado nursing bra? I bought one and it was actually so supportive I thought it was too small. Now that I've worn it a while, I know it's not, I was just not used to the support since I have such 'pendulous' breasts . My only issue with it is that it's a sports-type so you have to wrestle it on over your head. I actually wish I could wear it 24/7 and not have to take it off to shower or wash it

I just got 2 new Bravado bras too. I really liked the one I had with DD and now have a beige, black and a leopard print one. I want to get a white bra too. I should get one that has a back closure, maybe I'll check out the olga ones.

My DD has been fighting a cold for several nites. She is good during the day but coughs and gets stuffed up at night. Last night - Halloween she had a couple nightmares from trickortreating. She says she likes the scary stuff, but probably not so much anymore!
