Help! Sewing machine trouble! Desperate!

Ok I need help! I have been trying to get the tension adjusted on my sewing machine with NO luck. My best friend thinks she is in early labor and I need to get her breastfeeding pillow done! When I sew the front looks fine but the backside is like long looped threads that get all bunched. Any ideas how to fix that?

I would check your bobbin, Mine does that sometimes when the bobbin gets tangled up if I try to pull the fabric through faster than the machine will sew.

Rethread your machine, with new thread and bobbin thread, put in a new needle, set your tensions to your machines neutral settings (normally 4-ish) take a deep breathe, and practice on a scrap of the material you are sewing.

I find that sometimes my machines just dislike certain thread! And a new needle never hurts. I also talk to my machines when they have an important job to do, but maybe that is just a foible of mine.

Good luck!!!

I agree with everything that everyone else has said but I would like to add - check the tension of your bobbin. Is there a screw on it? When you hold your bobbin by the thread it should hang comfortably, not go falling to the ground. Good luck and I understand what you are going through, my machine is at the repair shop! - Melsie

I find that I sometimes get the loops underneath if I have somehow mis-threaded the top thread.
