Saying baby-formula freebies jeopardize infants' well-being by discouraging breast-feeding, a group of health-care workers plans to protest at a dinner that a leading formula company is giving tonight in Oakland.

Ugh! I hope the heathcare professionals are going just for the free dinner and not because they are interested. Hey we should send letters to all HCP in Oakland telling them we know about the dinner and asking that they promote breastfeeding.

My mom is a nurse at a local hospital and her and her co-workers LOVE it when the drug companies throw dinners for them. They see it as a night out to chat w/ friends and usually fantastic free food to boot. I however lecture her every time she goes.

they should have drank some of their formula for dinner, that yummy flavor they give to it...

A little OT but we were at a birthday party where all of the babies were formula fed and the parents were talking about how gross it was and in my head I was thinking "then why feed it to them" (I know I don't know the circumstances of why they were FFing but I did know that 2 chose to do so and never bfed)
