Mayor's wife of North Bay ON compares breastfeeding in public to vomiting!

Forgive me if I have posted this in the wrong spot.


The attached column ran on Monday October 25, in the "North Bay Nugget", North
Bay, Ontario. (FYI, North Bay is population 56,000).

The columnist is the Mayor's wife!

The article was trying to address certain impolite behaviours in the
community, such as cars splashing pedestrians and not saying please and thank
you.

Of interest is her first "proposal" to build a more civil society:

"Young mothers must stop breastfeeding in public. We all squirm at the sight
of an infant stuck to what a three-year old knows is a private part. And don't
rationalize rude behaviour by telling us that it is a perfectly natural
function. So is vomiting, dear, but we don't want to watch you do that, either.
Particularly while dining in a nice restaurant."

What to Do:

A Nurse-In has been confirmed at City Hall, Monday at 10am.

And how, exactly, is she going to rationalize her rude, arrogant, and ignorant behavior? :

Oh, no she didn't !

|Stupid, ignorant, uptight, sexually repressed COW of a female! AAAAHHH! I would like very much to whip out both titties and squirt her all over her stuck up face! Sorry, but this doesn't help my irritation over someone expressing disdain and disgust for me nursing my 2yo today : .

Hmmm...my three year old doesn't think that my breasts are private :LOL She thinks they are hers, to kiss and cuddle, and she's been weaned for over 18 months! :LOL

Her phrasing seems like that of an older woman (addressing "young mothers"). I am hoping that this (infuriating) attitude is unique to the oldest generations, and will just simply die out. I am doing my part to make sure the newest generation is comfortable with breasts :LOL

What an ignorant woman. And my Ds has no clue that breasts are private. Heck he thinks running down the street naked is the best thing in the world to do. I hope she has a heartattack when she sees all of the women at the nurse in. :

I am also stunned at her ignorant opinons and choice of words!

I was thrilled to read all of the comments that the other moms made about breastfeeding in public--and I can only hope that she begins to gain some enlightenment.

Last time I was in North Bay, I nursed. In public. No filthy looks from anyone. Wonder where she was at that moment.



Whadda wacko.

Wish I could go and take part in the nurse-in.

I think her comment about a "three-year old" should be emmended to a "three-year old who has been raised in a prurient-minded, television-brainwashed family who believes that titties are sweater decorations only and was formula fed from a bottle with cartoon characters on it".

My three year old sure as he** knows what breasts are for. She uses them for what they're made for at least five times a day.
