Heyyyy, we're back!

BooHoo I can't see the video!!! My Mac can't open it. Oh well.

I'm working on an "Evan's first year" video with pictures and video from his frist year. I want to give it to the GPs on his birthday. Where did all the time go?

I maded the mistake of going to Wally World yesterday : It was absolutely insane. I was there for 2 hours and I didn't get everything that I needed. Remind me that I willl be shopping in the middle of the night between now and Christmas.....

Good morning everyone! Withdrawls? I only checked this thing about a dozen times yesterday to see if it was back up yet :LOL

Nothing new to report here, except Jesi has been sleeping again finally. she'll go down around 8:30 or 9:00ish, wakes about 10 to nurse goes back to sleep until 4 or 4:30, nurses again, goes to sleep wakes at 6 and nurses then sleeps until 8:30or so. On the other hand, Danielle has been waking multiple times during the night with nightmares so I'm not getting to sleep still, but at least jesi is.

MIL is having surgery today to remove a cancerous lump from her breast. Pretty scary. So since she will be unable to, I get to take care of thanksgiving (since no one else will) I'm going to be spending most of my day in the kitchen getting the pies done, BIL brought the turkey over yesterday (he gets one from work every year, this year it is 22 pounds, we usually only get about a 10 pound one) so my fridge is way overstuffed, AND I have to clean house because dh and the kids are only good at messing it up I have a busy couple of days ahead! Glad MDC is back so I can vent :LOL I suppose more will get done if I get up and away from the computer huh? Maybe after a little more reading :LOL Have a great day everyone!

Sherri, I hear you on the Thanksgiving thing although I always host as I can't stand my MIL's cooking of a turkey. But my house is a disaster although not quite as bad since I didn't have MDC all weekend. Its amazing what you can get done when you're not surfing around here when the opportunity strikes. :

Henry had his 1 year check-up on Saturday. He's 29.5" and 21lbs. 14oz. I thought for sure he'd be heavier than that. He certainly feels heavier than that.

Anyway, I need to go do some straightening while he's napping. He skipped his usual morning nap and we instead went to the Sing-a-Long at the library. He fell asleep in the car on the way home and has been sleeping for about 45 minutes now. I'm hoping he'll make up for the missed nap and maybe extend into his afternoon nap. I think I'd prefer one long nap a day to two short naps.

Emily has been resisting her afternoon nap lately. She has been taking a good morning one, but around 2 she really needs to sleep, but won't. So she'll fight it and be cranky and clingy until around 4 or 5 and then will crash for an hour or so, only to be up till 10:30 or 11 at night! I've been kind of tired.

So what holiday traditions are you all following? We're having my parents and possibly my brother over. Doing a turkey and stuffing. The traditional dinner.

Well, normally we would spend the morning at home then go to MIL's house for dinner around 2ish but since MIL is having surgery today I am doing dinner here so I'll spend the morning running around like a crazy person trying to get everything cooked and ready at the same time, keeping kids out of stuff - that includes dh - until everyone gets here. I did not invite BIL and SIL though because there is a bit of a family fued going on right now with them. They wouldn't have come anyway, they didn't even bother to show up for Jessica's birthday party - but I'm not bitter or anything :

wow, i am a big fat jerk...after i posted, i saw blood on sage's finger I must have gotten her nail a little farther down than i thought. Poor baby. she always fights me when i clip her nails, even if i do it when she's sleeping. she wakes up and freaks out. I am such a jerk.

Sage has been walking more and more, and is really trying to run. she has now perfected walking with toys in her hands. BIL was staying with us this weekend, (we all are sleeping in one big room, seperate beds, lol), and this morning he woke me up and said, "sage was playing with this and i dont know what it is or where it came from..." and hands me a TURD!! LOL!! apparently she fished it out of her diaper, lol. He didn't think she stuck it in her mouth. i hope not. we both thoroughly sanitized our hands after that, lol.

well, we talked to a loan officer about the mortgage, and it looks like we might get it. we still have a bunch of hoops to jump thru, but if all goes well, we'll get the loan! I have to get a rent statement from MIL though, and I'm not sure if that will happen. our whole ability to buy this house could totally be blown away if she refuses to send us a statement saying we have been paying rent on time for the past 3 years...wish us luck!!

Angelica does the same thing all the time except after her late nap I am screwed untill at least midnight. Last night was 1:30 this morning.

My normal holiday routine is house hopping all day long. After last year(left the hospital and went house hopping with a 26hr old baby) I said I wasnt doing it again because Iam the one with little kids, not anyone else and thier hard to take care of all day at 2-3 different houses. And, my husband always argues with me cause I am not ready and we're gonna be late, blah blah blah.
So, my mother who doesnt wanna travel here asked if she had supper late (5pm)would I come down. That way we can relax at home all day and dont have to rush. I agreed and Paul was fine with it too. We'll see how it goes cause if it doesnt go well I will not being attempting anything for Christmas.
And why should I worry about everyone being able to see my kids????!!
They will look the same the day after!

I'm not sure what our plans are for this year. I know we will be going to DH's paternal grandmother's on thursday, spend the night, and then go to his maternal uncle's on Friday to see that side of the family, (they are delaying turkey day until Fri so some relatives that live in another state can be there ). other than that, i dont know what else we are goin to do. I was going to make some cornbread dressing, but I dont think these yankees will like it, lol. I might make cranberry sauce from scratch..dunno yet.

Christy ~ the cornbread stuffing sounds great to me!! I've been busy getting things done. I made oatmeal cookies and a dutch apple pie earlier today, I'm making a pecan and a pumpkin pie tonight then tomorrow I'm making some bread and rolls. I have to start early since I have to take care of everything.

dh broke his finger at work today! Then he didn't even call me to tell me about it, I had to hear it from FIL. Dh said I never give him any sympathy anyway so that is why he didn't call me. So much for getting any help out of him this weekend!

just kidding, i hope he's ok, and I hope you dont end up being too stressed. and I love cornbread stuffing, but BIL says he doesnt think anyone would like it b/c up here, they only like sweet cornbread, , not savory cornbread. he also said that they all think cornbread is too gritty. So he kinda dashed my hopes...but my cranberry sauce is really good, and I'm sure they will eat it.

I was teasing him tonight and said it would be funnier if it WAS the middle finger. It was his ring finger on the right hand. I'd describe what he did, but it is pretty gross. It was broken between the last knuckle and the tip of the finger and is really hurting him right now. Poor guy had to drive home in the toyota, which is a stick shift and he shifts with his right hand. Every time he bumps it (which is quite a bit with a rambunctious toddler in the house) he wimpers. It's almost comical. Men can be such babies.

I love cornbread stuffing! I'm doing a breadcrumb dressing this year, though. I am going to make a pumpkin and apple pie today, andsavetherestfor tommorrow. I might do some prep work like snipping beans or something today. Oh, and I have to clean the house. It looks like it's just going to be my parents. I was hoping that my brother and a friend of his and her daughter would be coming, but it looks like not. That's ok. It will be nice and relaxed.
