Vitamins for Baby

Thread Starter
Hello,

I am new to this forum and I have a question (I'm sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong section)

My DS is almost 6 months old and is exclusively BF. I was planning on trying some solids soon but if he is anything like his sister was he probably won't eat much in the way of solids (she really didn't start 'eating' until she was old enough to feed herself finger foods) Based on this does my son now require vitamins (specifically iron and D vitamin) I didn't give my daughter anything extra at all but now I am being told by various sources that I should have? Can anyone help shed some light on what I should be giving my son (if anything?)

TIA

Vit D not unless you and the baby don't get much sunlight (eg, if you are dark-skinned and live in northern latitudes in winter).
Iron should be fine if you are bf (the iron in bm is very bioavailable -easily absorbed - even tho only present in small amounts), try to avoid cereal if you start solids tho, because I read that the iron in cereal interferes with the uptake of bm iron (not too sure about the particulars tho)
