Bf-ing at daycare....

Hi everyone -

Thanks for the earlier help on breastfeeding in front of my Dad. I've got a new dilemma! I'm starting to breastfeed my dd at daycare during my lunch hour, and it's going pretty well - except all these super-curious toddlers keep coming over and wanting to know what I'm doing, what Bonnie's doing, can they do it, etc. etc.
So I tell them "Bonnie's eating" and "I'm breastfeeding Bonnie. This is how she gets milk" and "This milk is special for Bonnie." Got any other ideas how I can explain things to 1-3 year olds?
I thought that after I did it a couple of times, they'd be less curious, but that isn't the case.

TIA! - idocrase

If you could spare about 5 bucks, there's a great book called "Mama, Mama" that's written for toddlers. It shows mothers and babies all through the animal kingdom, and there's a nursing page "Mama, Mama, Soft as silk, Give me warmth and give me milk". Maybe that would help put it in toddler-perspective for them? I think it's great that you're nursing her in front of them!

I just keep repeating it. Like with everything, toddlers like to hear things over and over and over!

It just takes a lot of time for something to get old for toddlers, but it will eventually. It might take a few weeks, but then I imagine they will be completely used to it. That is awesome that daycare is being so cool about you nursing there.
