healthy hand held snacks?

i have a long early morning routine...and this morning i came very close yo puking before i made breakfast...i was literally choking it down as i gagged. yuck!

the problem is ds has to potty first thing. after that i have to take the dogs out because the puppy can't hold it any longer. but i can't get up early either cause ds sleeps very lightly in the am. if i get as sick as i got this am...that's gonna be a disaster.

so i need some sort of hand held snack thar doesn't have to be refrigerated that i can eat while ds is going to the potty.

any ideas?


i had an apple this am and that DID NOT cut it...to light.

Unsalted Saltines, celery, string cheese, grapes, a bagel. . .just a few ideas

Drinking a small glass of 2% milk really does the trick for me. Settles my stomach instantly.

i relied on milk in my last pregnancy.. ubt i quit eating dairy cause ds was allergic and discovered thati was too. for the first time i nmy life i am healthy.

Ugh i am havign such a hard tiem with textures...soft things..no way...can't eat nuts during certain parts of the day cause there roundness just makes me sooo ill. i can not cook at all right now because it requires way to much thinking about the food...sigh... i have been surviving on fruits, veggies, and granola bars while dh isn't home to cook... but we are going to get me some protien bats and ensure type stuff...hopefully this won't get any worse.

I do nuts when I am on the run and cant eat. Cashews, almonds, peanuts, etc.

I try cereal in the morning but milk makes me yak so I a have been doing rice milk and I still feel icky but it doesnt come up. LOL

I got these granola bars at the healthfood store that have less than 10 sugars (I am worried about getting GD).....so that is not too bad.

I puked a lot last time (not this time, hooray!), and what worked for me was to keep a serving of unsweetened applesauce by the bed, and eat a couple of spoonfuls of it before getting up. I had to eat it all night too, to be honest. I didn't get food poisoning or anything, applesauce isn't all that dangerous. Raisins are also great for raising blood sugar gently but quickly.

I get things called "chunks of energy" in bulk at the co-op that are great--no refrig., protein as well as calories--not as bland as applesauce though, so I don't know.
