Is anybody else find themselves outof breath easily. Like getting dressed makes me want to sit down and rest...

that was me, two weeks ago. My breath capacity has increased ENORMOUSLY since then -- which I think means the baby has "dropped" it is a huge feeling of relief to be able to breathe again.

Yes, I've been experiencing this--I keep forgetting and sailing up the stairs, and then having to stop and recover before I can do anything else!

Yup. Hauling my body anywhere puts me out of breath. I also think that the baby sits on something funny because I cannot stand for more than a few minutes without feeling dizzy. Made standing in line to vote yesterday for an hour and twenty minutes quite a challenge (little good it did anyway )

All the time! My office is on the 4th floor of a building with no elevator, and I have to go up and down at least 5 times a day. Plus, the women's restroom is on the floor below mine.

I have always been a very physically active person, so I find it really weird not to have my usual capacity. I was encouraged to read that it might get better once the baby drops (although how much lower could it go? I think I'm already carrying low...hmm...)

Eruditia,
you'd be surprised at how low they go! I carried DD really low and when she dropped, by whole belly bulge was below my bellybutton. It just went straight from my ribs to my BB and stuck out big. It's surprising!

I am not out of breath all the time. But I had to walk up and down a hill the other day at a festival and I was miles behind everyone, even DD! It was incredible how difficult it was to heave my big self up that little hill! LOL

I can't wait till this baby drops, then I will know there's only a couple weeks left!

I think the out of breath feeling is also supposed to have something to do with our blood volume doubling. There's just a lot more work going on in the circulatory system! compounded by the baby creeping up on the lungs. I was a runner before pregnancy, and I'm constantly out of breath for even small flights of stairs!

Just putting my shoes on is about more than I can handle. Anything that involves bending over will leave me panting.

lurking from november since i'm due 11/29

i have been getting out of breath mostly just after breakfast. sitting down is the worst - i think between my baby, my full stomach, and my bad posture there is no room to breathe. so i have to either lie down or walk around. it has gotten easier in the last week though - since 35w or so.

since the beginning of the second tri i've gotten easily winded going up a hill or upstairs. i can walk on level ground for an hour or more no problem, but as soon as i encounter a hill i have to go soooooo slow. and i always take elevators upstairs, but i can happily skip down a bunch of them.

I was out of breath quite a bit in the beginning and middle of pregnancy, but since I have upped my iron consumption (via herbs and such), I feel freakin' great.

Just a thought

I'm glad it isn't just me! I am going kinda crazy with feeling like I need to take a break every 10 steps! The other day the mere thought of having to walk through the grocery store to buy food was enough to get me to give in and let dh order pizza! :LOL

Many times it's normal and sometimes it's a sign of anemia.

This is happening to me too. I didn't notice at first but I would answer the phone and the person on the end would ask me if I had just been jogging. Now just getting out of bed causes me to pant.

I remember being out of breath a lot last time, but this time it barely happens at all. I carried dd really low, but this baby is even lower. I haven't gotten any rib kicks this time around.

Yep. My iron tincture seems to have helped, but mostly I think it's just a reduced lung capacity thing.

It's on and off for me. It all depends on that babies position. I'm more out of breath when I'm curled up in a chair than I am standing up. BUT, we have a 2 story home and I still have to carry Meg up and down the stairs a few times a day at least. It's really hard to do as she's 26 pounds of lead now! It's not bad going up alone but with her it's HARD. Then bending down to pick her up off her playmat on the floor 20 or so times a day and getting up and down to feed and play with her and Emma. Good grief! The other day my doc asked me "you shouldn't be lifting her should you?"

I said I guess not but what else can I do! It's was strange how she asked me. Like she wasn't sure. SHe must not have realized that I HAVE to and don't choose to.

So, you to sum it up i'm our of breath alot but it's positional, I think.

The only thing I have really found helpful is Chlorophyll. I notice a big differenc if I slack on it for a day or two. Glad I am not the only person huffding and puffing!

You know of course after posting about how it wasn't really happening to me, today after lessons I was talking to a parent and panting the whole time :LOL I was trying so hard to control it and not sound like a perv or something.
