My DD has a preschool classmate who is just the cutest little guy. He's a sweet, loving child, very nice to the other kids, and he follows his older (4.5 yo) brother around adoringly.
His mom was telling me yesterday how annoyed she gets when he wakes up 15 minutes early in the morning and tries to crawl into his parents' bed. She says he's too big for that, and told me that she's tired of his "manipulative" fake crying, where he says things like, "But Mamma, I love you and I just want to snuggle" and cries when she takes him back to his room. She was annoyed because he tried to crawl in with his brother one morning after being removed from his parents' bed. I think she was afraid it would encourage them to grow up gay.
Now, I didn't say anything to her, and of course it's her choice about where her kids sleep and how comfortable she is. But I looked at that sweet little boy, who just wanted to snuggle, and I thought it was kind of sad that his mom didn't appreciate that. He's just so cute and loving.
Made me want to go home and curl up with my DD, KWIM?
