Does anyone know if PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) increases the chance of miscarriage?

I am just about to wean off medication for this disorder because it is a category B2 drug (affects in pregnancy not known - no animal studies done).

This is a little daunting for me ... any one have any advice for me? Please help. I'm already considered to be at higher risk of m/c because I've already had 3.

Starlite, I used to do a lot of work w/women experiencing PTSD. I have never heard of it increasing the chance of miscarriage, but I do think it gives you extra cause to take good care of yourself. Do you have a support network - family, friends, therapist? I think that will be especially important while you are weaning of the meds. Are you seeing a midwife or OB that you have a good relationship with? Since midwives give a lot more attention & nurturing, this might be helpful for you. Perhaps you can connect w/(or form) a PTSD mama tribe here at MDC.

Hugs to you courageous mama. I'll be thinking of you.
