Ava was born Sunday, Nov 7 at 1:22 PM. I delivered her in a kiddie pool in my own bedroom...dh caught her and ds cut her cord! Her head was born with the bag of waters intact, but my mw had to break the bag to get her shoulder out - she weighs 9 lbs, 2 oz!
She is 20 inches long and so sweet!
I started laboring at 2:30 AM, but my ctx were 4-7 minutes apart and easily doable. My mw suggested we go outside for a walk around 9 AM...it was a beautiful day here, about 68 and sunny. While walking, the ctx became closer and I had a few intense ones. By the time we got home at 10:30 AM, the midwife was already on her way and I was in hard labor. I finally got into the kiddie pool about 12:30 PM and pushed for 22 minutes. Boy, was she big!
DS was so cute, he kept rubbing my back and putting cool washcloths on my forhead. When they were filling up the pool, he insisted on getting his fireman hat and coat so he could fill it up with the hose too. He stood right next to dh while Ava came out. It was amazing! Thank God I preframed him because I was really yelling. The windows were open in our bedroom, so I wonder what the neighbors were thinking!
Anyway, I'm tired and sore and SOOO glad that my baby is here. I hope the rest of you November mommies have as wonderful a birth as I just did!

She's huge! I was told by a friend of mine that many homebirth babies are around 9lbs or more...I'm a little scared by that

: Congrats!!!!
Congratulations Dawn! I'm so happy for you! Have a great babymoon!

I know it's overdone, but I can't wait to get her into something pink! I'm one of those all-cotton people though, and we don't have anything but unisex colors from when I had ds. Maybe this weekend we can pick up a few things.
