We have:

"A Ride on Mother's Back: a day of baby carrying around the world"
by Emery & Durga Bernhard ISBN: 0-15-200870-5
A beautiful book depectiing 11 families around the world, carrying their babies as they go about daily life. A section at the back gives a bit more information about each culture.

"The Biggest Bed in the World" by Lindsay Camp illustrated by Johnathan Langley ISBN: 0-06-028687-3
"Ben's dad can't sleep. There are too many children in his bed! First there's Ben, and then there's Billy. Soon the twins, Beth and Bart arrive. And then...yikes!...Brittany, Bella and Boris are born. Ben's dada decides to build the biggest bed in the world. But the world's biggest bed also turns out to be the world's heaviest bed...Uh oh!" (from inside cover) In the end Dad realizes that he sleeps better being squished in the one small bed with everyone.

Thanks for the great book suggestions. It's refreshing to see someone post something in this section NOT about TV shows!

I have:
The Biggest Bed in the World

We Love to Nurse

A Ride on Mother's Back

We have the Backpack Baby series coming as well...

Other not really AP books, but promote AP stuff that we've read are:

Baby See, Baby Do (the daddy carries the baby in a snugli)

Daddy's Lullaby (the daddy finds the baby awake and stays up with him, singing him a little lullaby)

On Mother's Lap

I Love You, Little One

Guess How Much I Love You

We the book Everywhere Babies - it's not AP per se, but shows a really nice range of parenting:

My favorite line is:

Everyday, everywhere, babies are carried
In backpacks, in frontpacks, in slings and in strollers
In carseats and bike seats and on daddies' shoulders!

Who is the author of "We Love To Nurse"? Or do you know the ISBN?

Is this the book you mean: We Like To Nurse? It looks pretty neat.

This page also has one called I'm Made of Mama's Milk that looks like it might be pretty great too.

And these, while not expressly AP, seem to fit well: Mama Mama and Papa Papa. I remember them from my "working in a bookstore" days and they are one fo the few that I am still kicking myself for not getting with my enormous discount!

Snuggle Me Snuggly by Karen Baicker is full of imagery of babies snuggling into sleep with their parents. Very cute pictures and sweet rhymes.

Hello! I found a couple more that you guys might be interested in (I'm going to have to go on a book-buying frenzy!)

A family bed book: The Cuddlers

And I am very excited about this one that is a story about a homebirth from a child's perspective: Welcome With Love

I'll keep looking for more! This is fun...

Probably should just edit one of my other posts here, but I'll just make sure this is the last one!

Here is another breastfeeding book for little ones: The Best Gifts

Here is another one that maybe isn't per se, but that sounds like it would mesh well with an AP lifestyle...I am interested in checking this one out further: Loving Here are a couple of the descriptions: "Provides examples of the different ways in which love can be expressed, with an emphasis on the relationship between parent and child." and "Little ones will enjoy this enlightening encounter with people from many cultures showing their love for each other." Sounds neat!

Okay, I think I'm done!

"Mr. Bear's New Baby" by Debi Gliori tells of an unhappy baby who is quieted by snuggling up with her family in bed. Also a good story because "Small Bear" (the new big sister) is the heroine of the story. In other Mr. Bear books Baby Bear wears cloth diapers and is carried in a sling.

caveat; Mr. Bear allows that the family will sleep together "just this once." I always wonder if some editor inserted that phrase to make the idea more palatable to a mainstream audience.
