Wow! Flashback! I forgotten all about those. My little sister and I, with our collective best friend, Davy, used to watch these. We called them "Merry Moodles." I guess we couldn't read too well yet?

don't know if it is Disney (I think it is) but we use to have a chip and dale tape that we LOVED (edited to add that they do comment of the fact that donald duck has a big butt - if that bothers you). I also liked Darby O'Gill and the Little people (you might need to skip the end) and Bednobs and Broomsticks. Baby Enstein is also done by disney now.

Has anyone seen the new Clifford movie? I thought it was pretty good.

In the words of my mother, edit, edit, edit. (for the longest time I thought FootLoose was just dancing since she edited out all of the "anti-religious" themes - I am talking as a teenager!)

my dd loves chitty chitty bang bang. oh so much. we sing 'truly scrumptious' just about constantly. I thought the 'child catcher' was an EXTREMELY creepy and scary character, but dd doesnt bat an eye (she's 2 btw) she also loves alice in wonderland, though...which scared the crap out of me when I was little, but I still watched it all the time.

she used to love 'james and the giant peach' (one of my favorite books as a kiddo) but since a certain friend came ove and their darling son said 'tooo scary' my dd has been saying the same thing, lol (thanks melissa)

we tried peter pan, but i had to turn it off when they said that indians arent very smart and just kids jumping out of windows seemed scary to me. lol.

the biggest thing i love about her favorite movies are that they lack product tie-ins. yeah! no chitty chitty bang bang bedroom sets, lol.

Isn't Chitty Chitty Bang Bang pretty long though?

My DD likes The Little Mermaid II with Ariel's daughter Melody. There is a seawitch but not as scary as Ursula in the first one. Also teaches a decent story of accepting yourself for what you are.

My DD does okay with scary movies usually, she likes Spirited Away, Castle in the Sky and my favorite Kiki's Delivery Service- very cute and no missing parents, although Kiki leaves home to learn her witch skill.

She also enjoyed Ella Enchanted and Princess Bride, those are a little more for older kids but she likes princesses

Good luck on your search
