I have PCOS and have been overweight since puberty, I recently lost 60lbs, but obviously that'll go down hill now, but my jeans are already not fitting me anymore & I have bid on some maternity clothing already from eBay. Last time I was pregnant, there wasn't much of a selection of plus sized maternity clothing, but now there is a great selection, I can't wait to get a cute Summer outfit for pictures before the baby is born.

Motherhood Maternity and JC Penneys both have some pretty decent plus size maternity clothes. I bought a lot of stuff from them last time and hope that I can still use most of it this time.
I have been searching and searching for plus sized maternity/nursing tops and have found this site: www.baubulz.com
They have transitional clothing up to size 4X that looks very nice. The tops are meant for you to use while pregnant and then into your nursing relationship post partum.
Good luck!

Me!
Oh, the clothes.... I sold all mine last time because we were moving but now I wish I would've kept my black overalls. Last time I had no luck at JC Penny. Most of it was all polyester or other synthetic materials, which I hate.
Anyone past their first have pubic pain last pregnancy?

Plus size here and weigh the most I have in over three years. I just plan on eating right and doing moderate exercise. (walking several times a week) I will probably lose weight until the third trimester and then will gain some it back.
My biggest concern right now is just being fit to chase the three older children. I am really out of shape, but normally physically feel great during pregnancy.

I'm plus sized too. I weighed less the day dd was born than I do now so most of my old maternity clothes won't fit.
It's incredibly depressing. I'll be making a trip to the Mothering outlet in a few weeks.

Hi mamas... I'm not pregnant but one of my good friends just told me she's due in July so I am over here checking out the scene... *sigh* I miss feeling those little kicks... the toes between the ribs, not so much LOL...
I was a size 28 when I got pregnant with ds in '02 (sz24 when we c'd dd in '01) and finding clothes was a challenge. Especially because I was FT WOH at a fancy office! I found that shopping for things that had a fuller cut worked well for me, as well as 'slinky' knits that stretched a lot. Sometimes Target has a slinky knit line in their plus size clothing dep't. I also wore a lot of cardigans and jackets with tank tops and tees... that way I could buy undershirts that fit now, and the other stuff would still fit later! Plus, I don't own any 'nursing clothes'... I just wear tops w/cardigans or overshirts and pull the undershirt up to nurse while keeping covered with the overshirt... cheaper then Motherwear!
You can always buy things a size or two bigger and either have them taken in, or consign/trade them for new clothes when they become too big...
I also found the COOLEST embroidered shirt on eBay, search in plus size tops/blouses for your size (say, 4x) and you should get a lot from this one seller, can't remember who... but they import these beautiful blouses from India. It takes over a month to arrive because of it, but they are worth it! They have a few different styles, including an empire-waist (where its semi-fitted to your bust and then flares out) and princess-seamed (similar shape), these work great for the belly and for the transition afterwards. I plan on loaning my friend this shirt for her to wear this pregnancy.
I hope you all have wonderful pregnancies! I had a great pregnancy with ds, even as I was at my largest ever! He was born at home in the caul, after 10 hours of labor and 23 minutes of pushing. Just cuz I'm not small doesn't mean I can't birth with the best of 'em :LOL
FWIW the weight has come off slowly and I am now almost back into a sz24, where I started 2 pregnancies ago...

Hi XM! Thanks for loaning me that great shirt. I'm hoping that by eating well and exercising I will be fitter by the end of my pregnancy and won't ahev such a hard time finding clothes that fit. I saved my maternity clothes from dd but they are all winter clothes so won't help much.
I'm excited to be joining the ranks of the July05 mamas!
