UM, my doctor is an idiot.

I am new over here, just found out I am PG with #3 last week.

I have been feeling sick every day for the last week. Finally a couple nights ago I woke up at midnight and vomited. I called my GP the next morning because I was supposed to work all weekend and wanted to know what I could take for morning sickness. I never had it with my other pregnancies. He says. "You have the flu. Morning sickness comes on in the morning and usually gets better as the day goes on. Not worse." He did call me in a script for Phenergan.

OK, is he the biggest idiot? Morning sickness only happens in the morning? I am not going to see him for any pregnancy related problems. Ever. I can't believe all these years I have let him do my pelvics and paps and breast exams. I thought I liked him but I now think he is an idiot. Sorry, I had to vent.

Kinda makes me wish there were a way to make him go through a day of 'morning' sickness

fwiw, the only thing that helped me was drinking water with lemon juice
that and eating constantly. a cracker or something every 10-15 minutes.
It was awful

I need to print like twenty things about it and bring it to his office for him. I am so disapointed. I hate switching providers and I have been with him for 5 years now or something. I just can't ever take his advice seriously now.

Wow. What a moron! I'm one example of how morning sickness starts off relatively mild in the morning and worsens as the day goes on, peaking right before I go to bed where I throw up. LOL

what a cute term "morning-sickness" is... obviously coined by someone who hadn't ever had it.

i was sick for months with DS... early on, my sweet, very concerned DH asked (around 5:30pm) "Do you think it could be morning sickness? But it isn't morning..."

Thanks. That is my experience this time too. I feel worse as the day goes on, not better. Around bedtime is when it is worst. I haven't thrown up since that one day, I have been really careful throughout the day now, not letting it get too bad and not shoveling food in my mouth at the wrong times. I am shocked at how ignorrant he is. He is relatively young and has two kids of his own. I'm shocked. Thanks for reassuring me that I was right and he was wrong

Well that is just lame! With Maxi I was sick 25/7 for 6 weeks. It was no better in the evening than it was in the AM.

This time its not been very consistent but I wake up feeling fine and by 10ish I feel nausious and then much, much worse at night by the time I get home from work.

It makes me nuts when dr.s think that things can be the same for EVERY single person. Not just having to do with pregnancy but everything!

I have the exact same problem, except I haven't actually pukd yet (although last night it might have been a relief).

Wow. I guess he doesn't have kids. Or his SO never got sick. Wow again.
I am at a loss for words.

all day sickness for me with #2 till 20 weeks. Allday sickness for me with #3 till 14 weeks.

But I guess it was all in my mind or I had the flu for a very long time.
