My mom came over today after the contractions had died down. I had a great sleep so I am in a really good state of mind right now except for the fact that I am still having contractions every now and then (no noticeable pattern but definitely not BH).
I told my mom that labour was stalled right now and she laughed and said that the same thing had happened to her with two of my older sisters. She went into labour with both of them, laboured for almost a day and then it stopped. With my oldest sister they actually kept her in the hospital for 3 days waiting to see if labour would start again but it didn't so they sent her home. She went into labour again almost a week later and everything went fine.
I guess knowing that she did the same thing somehow makes it more normal for some reason. Really and truly I am feeling pretty darned good (other than some soreness) for someone who has been contracting for 3 days LOL. Its kind of nice getting a bit of a break...and knowing that all of the work that I have done so far doesn't need to be done again
I want to thank everyone for their support. You really have no idea how much it means to me. Even when I was contracting I wanted to come and update LOL and my DH thought I was nuts because just walking down the stairs to the computer took about 5 minutes. Somehow being able to write it all out made it more real for me and validated my experience KWIM? Its hard for DHs to "get it" even though Jeff is wonderful...he really has no concept of how tired I was or how hard it is to decide to do nothing when I was all excited to see Niamh. He really does his best to be supportive but somehow hearing it from women who are experiencing the same things (albeit much quicker and more efficiently than I am LMAO!) makes it so much more real.
I think I am going to go and have an early night. Rhys is coming back from my ILs tomorrow morning and I missed him so much! Talked to him tonight and he sounds like he is having so much fun so that made being away from him much easier...but I really need to snuggle my little boy!
