Breaking news--Tom Hanks might star in it!

http://www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/Movi...eut/index.html

Book has been on bestseller list for 86 weeks. Hanks in the movie version will really make it open big. I wonder if it will be ready for next winter's holiday lineup?

I imagined someone a little younger (and sexier) for the lead.

Johnny Depp.

Hm, well. Yes. Johnny Depp should be in every movie.

Johnny Depp should be in my bed with no spare time for movies.

ROFL! :LOL

But seriously folks (and why is it so hard for me to be serious these days? I guess with the election my subconscious is telling me serious doesn't matter, only $$$ and power do), I am looking forward to the movie.

Who I wonder, will play Sophie?

I was looking forward to the movie too, until I saw the previews for the new Nicolas Cage movie. Looks like a watered-down, American version of TdC.

Naaahhh, isn't the professor in his 40's? Isn't this another opportunity to see Viggo Mortensen on screen?

Rachel Weisz gets my vote for Sophie.

I'm not a Hanks fan, really. I pictured someone more Harrison Ford, really. But younger. Who would that be?

Oh, and Johnny Depp is only allowed to appear on screen in heavy eyeliner. (and some pirate-y looking stuff) (or nudey nakey) I don't think he's a good fit for TdC.

But it's fun to think about.

You didn't see him in Secret Window then, in his nerd glasses? That look would've been good for this movie.

I did see the nerd glasses. I liked them, but not nearly as much as the eyeliner. Mucho more hotness.

Rar.

Wow, exciting. I loved the book. Sadly, while reading it I kept getting distracted by thinking about what a good movie it would make. :
