What should I make?

I have two balls of yarn (100g each - normal weight), and I have no clue what to make! All I ever seem to make is scarves, and I'm getting a bit sick of that. I'm a very beginner knitter, so I'm looking for very easy patterns. Any ideas? Spam me with links

try browsing knitty.com or magknits.com or google 'free knitting patterns' and follow the links to about.com knitting! Lots of stuff laying around to inspire you!

I could use some new mittens.

What kind of yarn is it?
If it's cotton Bernat.com has some neat bath mitts under "craft - to knit"
If it's pure wool patonsyarns.com has a nifty felted knitting needle case.
Acrylic? What about a teddy bear: http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/buddybears.html or http://members.tripod.com/%7EJillMC/teddy.html
Finger puppets: http://www.fjsmjs.com/Mary/fingerpuppets.htm

That much yarn would be enough to make a sweater for your daughter, too.

Here's one site: http://www.frugalhaus.com/homepage/freepats.htm

I just made this for myself: http://www.frugalhaus.com/homepage/60scarf.htm
I love the way it turned out (minus an issue with my cats attacking it in the dead of night...argh). Very easy, good to practice your decreasing skills. It fits wonderfully, too---I like the fact that it buttons. A bit fancier and warmer than a bandana, if you're a head scarf kinda of mama. You'd have enough to make yourself one of these, plus a matching hat for your babe
