Breakable safety bead?

I saw a safety bead (looks like a white pill) that comes apart when there is too much weight. I'm not sure if it breaks or just snaps apart.. but it can be put back together again after it comes apart.

Any ideas where I can find this??

Well if the child is wearing this neckace and gets caught on something I want it to break apart so it doesn't strangle him or her. I've seen the magnetic beads but I'm not sure if that will work. I'm really interested in finding this bead.

Ooh, I'm interested to know, too. I've seen the beads in use. HABA makes adorable beaded pacifier clips that use them (I use one to attach toys to my daughter in the car seat or sling...) I'd love to know where to find the beads themselves. I've seen the magnetic ones, but they seem too weak - the necklace would fall off too easily when the child fidgets with it and get lost.

Ok, a lady who sold me my nursing necklace told me where she got them...man, wish I could remember...I do know that it was from a major bead manufacturer and that you had to order a boat load of beads to be able to get the safety beads for some reason....I hope that helped in some far off way *LOL*

*LOL* Wow! So glad I could help out The safety bead was the one reason I decided to go with that nursing necklace above the others....I think it's a GREAT idea...maybe the karma will come back to me next time I need to find something *LOL*

You were a HUGE help! And yes the safety bead is a nice thing to have. I would hate to hear that a child got hurt with one of my necklaces But thanks to you.. i doubt it will ever happen.
