Cute snowmen, Theresa!

I saw some felted christmas tree ornaments in a book at my lys. They look really cute, you can do different colors and embellish them with beads, sequins, etc. Now if I could just teach myself how to knit a star shape, I'd be set!

One year I beaded ornaments. It's kind of hard to describe, but I handbeaded seedbeads into a lace-like pattern and then sewed the ends together, making a flat, round, wreath-like ornament. It was pretty, but I needed to reinforce it with craft glue so that it would hang stiffly instead of droop.

I saw these ornaments at a craft fair last weekend and I'm going to try to make them. They were the clear bulb ornaments that had sand and tiny shells inside, with Mele Kalikimaka written on the outside, and a raffia bow glued on it. They were so cute! All my family and friends will be receiving one this year.

I've got three kids. I'm making a pattern for each of their hands, and cutting them out of fimo clay, baking, and stacking them up to make a pile of handprints biggest to smallest. I'm going to cut a little hole in the center of baby's hand and put a pic in before I glue them together.

For Morgaine's second Christmas we got balls, mixed gallery glass paint with quality glitter for a snowy glitter paint . Painted balls, dried. Did one handprint in red, one in green, like if she was holding the ball in 2 hands. Dried. Hot glue a few beads and holly leaves around the top. Sharpie her name and date near the bottom.

They were gorgeous.

For the kids I like baking soda/cornstarch clay and cookie cutters; it dries white and paints well.
