Congrats Eris!!

Jessica - if you like snaps you should check into snap source snaps. they arent the easiest to apply, but you can get a little thing that puts them on with a hammer. I found one here: http://www.sewbaby.com/notions1c.html Maybe an option for you

Congrats to Amy!!

Deirdre - I hardly had any BH at all til the last week or 2! And I was still somehow dilating :LOL Getting them is encouraging but discouraging all at the same time

Update on us... I'm pretty sure this baby is coming today or early morning tomorrow! I woke up with bloody show and contractions and still have them now... much more intense and about 5 minutes apart. Midwife has been over a few times and checked me... things are moving along, but slow So for now I'm just relaxing waiting for the real heavy duty stuff to kick in!

Wow! Congrats to Amy and Eris! Seems like everyone will be early but me

I hope things keep progressing for you Mama2Kayla, sounds like its getting serious this time. Great bag too!

Laura - Moving now would be overwhelming. I'm glad you found a place so quickly. I hope the move goes smoothly for you.

We had a nice Thanksgiving dinner with my DHs cousins. 5 other children for DD to play with and climb trees with. Even 1 new 7 week old baby to enjoy, even though she slept most of the afternoon away. Very cute and chubby! I had to drive home (1.5 hours) since DH over endulged. No traffic though.

I am so ready to join all of you, we did most of our holiday shopping today and all I have to do is wrap presents. I still need to wash diapers and baby clothes and put them all away. We even spent a gift cert today at ToysRUs for baby things, changing pad, waterproof sheet and hot wheel track for DD . All that walking did me in. I'm only 36 weeks so maybe one more week and then I am there.

DD had a cough all nite and kept us up, I can't sleep much anyway since I can't get comfy. My shoulders and chest seem to be taking the brunt of the pain now. I won't see my chiro until Wed. and then he is on his honeymoon for 2 weeks, not good timing there....

We are just laying low tonight and trying to get DD's cough under control. Tomorrow we are having our annual thanksgiving party for friends. We BBQ a turkey and have a potluck. I have no idea who is coming. But we'll have a big turkey to eat alone if we have too...

Take care all and here's to all the babies making early healthy apprearances!

Robin

38 weeks!

Wow -- So much has happened since I've been able to get on line! I missed you all so much! I think dh was WAY relieved when I told him MDC was back up and running.

Congrats to all the mamas who have given birth! And good luck to those with contrax and cramps.

Hugs to you Shalena. I am so sorry that you are going through this right now.

I've had "practice" contractions almost every night for a week now -- they last 45 seconds or so, are wave-like, not painful, but not painfree. The first few nights they were 20 minutes apart, two nights ago, 10. We had sex last night (I am SO horny!) which I thought would do it, but instead I just got a horrible back ache and major cramps.

Today, I have had practice contrax again -- they went on for 5 hours, and got as little as 8 minutes a part. I got on line a while ago, anad they stopped! : Last one was 30 minutes ago. I thought I lost my mucous plug a couple of days ago, but it was clear, not bloody, and really small, so ??? And no bloody show yet.

My nurse says he is engaged and totally dropped and expects him to wait maybe a week, but not much longer. She offered to check me, but I didn't want to be disappointed.

I think dh is getting bored with the practice contractions. He's really good with them, actually -- we use them as real practice -- he rubs me, I breathe, etc. But he doesnt' seem to think I'm actually gonna go into labor ever. Sometimes I don't think I'm ever gonna go into labor!!

BUT, he did go out and get amazingly good seasoned french fries a few hours ago. So he's still on my good side.

to all.

Wow!!!! Many congrats Eris and Amy!! I'm so glad to hear that everyone is moving right along.
Keeping my fingers crossed for you, Tiffany!!!! I am STILL having ctx. They are a lil stronger tonight, but certainly not painful or regular. We have done just about everything!!! We walked for hours today, had sex, clary sage massages, and I have cleaned almost eveything there is to clean. I think this is the first time I have sat down in like 6 hours
My lower back really aches, but I think it is more from cleaning and playing with the kids than labor. I am about ready to make a cup of tea and just sit down for the night. DH is seriously hoping for baby tonight.. its been a LONG week for everyone here so I know how he feels!

Here's to hoping for a few more healthy full moon babies.. including mine!

don't know how much more I can take

so, still pregnant .... 5 hours of 8 minutes apart contrax last night ... they started up again the minute dh got home from being away for a couple of hours. we took a gorgeous walk under the full moon by the water, where our town has lit "christmas trees" that are really tall bouys. then we came home and had tea and pumpkin pie and got in bed and read moby dick ... I thought, "this is the perfect time to have labor really get going" and then the contrax stopped. :

my hips and back are so sore that I wake up in the middle of the night wanting to cry. dh rubs me for hours in the middle of the night, and i feel guilty about it, but they hurt so bad.

dh keeps sayingn all the right things .... telling me the baby will come when he's ready, telling me that my body is amazing for all the practice it is doing.

but today, i couldn't wait for him to leave to go get our breakfast so that i could lay in bed and sob in private - i am really starting to be very physically uncomfortable. and tired. and frustrated. and anxious.

and i feel guilty about it because its such a privilege to have a life in me. and because I KNOW it can't last too much longer -- a month at the max. But I'm 38 weeks!! and have short cycles!! why can't I give birth today????? : yep, slightly controlling nature ....

well mamas, thanks for reading.

Lots of labor vibes going out to those looking for them!!!!

I still can't believe how many babies have made early appearances!

Rainy32 - I'm right there with ya!

I'm only 36 weeks, so I know there is a very real possibility that I may be miserable for a few more weeks.

My grandma says she's sure it's going to be in the next few days. From her lips to God's ears!

Alright. I was woken up my that crampy feeling this morning around 8, and it hasn't gone away. I'm hesitent to call them contractions, or pay attention to them but I'm desperatly hoping they are. If they keep happening, I might look at a clock.

I'm so happy and jealous of all you moms who have given birth already! Congrats!

I'll come back later and update my status.

38 weeks & 1 day!!

Wow...I keep looking at all these beautiful new baby pics & I'm getting jealous!!

Dh & I were *ahem* trying to encourage baby in our own special way and I had to about shove him away from me as I had a pretty hard bh at a very inopportune moment. :LOL He was a bit for a minute, but then understood... At least he was able to resume this time, unlike this morning when the OTHER child woke at an equally inopportune moment -- the look on dh's face was priceless! :LOL

My heart melted when I realized that ds was calling for "papa" instead of mama, though. Of course 1/2 hour later he ended up coming in to me anyhow, but still...

Well, back to my nesting -- I finished decorating my tree, so I don't have to worry about not getting one if baby is early. Now I need to get sewing to make use of all the fabric I bought at JoAnn's yesterday!

Sending labor to all who want it; I'm "planning" to wait til the end of next week...that's what I'VE decided, at least, who knows what little bean will decide!

end of week 35

Wow, so much has happened with everyone--I can hardly keep up with the congratulations and sympathy that you all deserve!

I'm starting to have some low level crampy-ish feelings, but nothing specific enough to be a contraction or a BH. I did feel hiccups for the first time the other night, and the baby is really rolling around in there.

I seem to be doing everything at the last minute. Our birth class STARTS this monday, and we haven't even toured the birth center yet. But my midwives tell me everything is okay, even being disorganized. I'm having a harder and harder time doing anything physical, but I'm trying SO hard to bite my tongue and not nag DH about all the stuff that still remains to be done...it will only provoke him and won't get anything done any faster.

Luckily my mom will come in a week after the baby is due, so we'll get some very welcome help in organizing and figuring things out. I can't wait to see her...

Now here's hoping that the baby doesn't arrive early--I need to make it through at least Dec. 10th to finish out the quarter at school!!

Best thanksgiving wishes to everyone!

Alright, I'm back. I just got home a while ago from out of town. I was sure I was going to have to come back early to have a baby but I did all I could and stopped the contractions since my midwife was out of town too. Thursday all day I had horrible pain. I couldn't tell if it was his position of contractions but it was BAD. Crying bad and I rarely cry. It must have been that full moon. I have been fine since friday morning. I do feel like it will be soon but not sure just how soon. I'm shooting for next weekend or as soon as he decides to come. my BP is still OK and I bet I gained 10 pounds eating everything I could. I'm so glad to be home!

Did I tell you all that my sister is pregnant? She's 13 weeks and I am so happy for her. It's so exciting I can't stand it!!!

Congrats to all those new mamas with tiny new babies.

Hil, did you mention what your babys weighed and how long? I didn't see that info and was curious.

I'll be checking to see if you are all progressing with the contractions. We're getting close!!!
