I've heard the weight thing too. That it starts when you reach a certain weight. It seems to be pretty accurate so far??

I don't have a daughter but I think most of you did a great job explaining it. My mom did a rotten job, told me how horrible it was and made it sound just terrible. I get horrible cramps and I really believe part of it is all in my head!

As for the weight thing, I only weighed like 83 pounds wehn I got mine, I didn't weigh over 100 until after my first year of college!

So my period came yesterday. The box of tampons now sits beside the toilet until I'm done. Dd2 (27 months) sees it this morning, takes one out and says "this goes in vulva, Mommy". Now she knows about vaginas too!
