Wow, although I am not into changing every 6 hours, I am almost equally amazed at the idea of changing 16-24 diapers a day. Honestly, my life would be pretty darn unenjoyable if I changed her that often. Unless of course she had a stomach flu or something, than of course I'd change her again and again and again, but otherwise, I just can't imagine it.
DD hates diaper changes, it's a challenge even with the velcro pocket diapers we use. And although I change her as SOON as she has pooped, she doesn't get changed with every pee - her diapers are fleece-lined and do an excellent job of keeping her dry. Ideally, sure, she'd have a clean dry diaper 100% of the time. But we have this little thing called "life" that gets in the way of that.

So with 24 diapers a day, assuming a minimal amount of night changes (my dd sleeps through 12 hours and doesnt get changed) are you changing like 3-4 times an hour? How are you able to do anything (take a walk, go to a museum, go to a friend's house) or are you just changing the diaper several times during any activity?
In response to the question, it depends. Could be 5 minutes, if she poops right after I put the diaper on (which happens more often than I care to admit!), but barring poops, she goes 2-3 hours in a diaper. And she is rash-free and happy too!
