Silly Question

Ok, maybe this is common knowledge but I just can't seem to get my head around it.

I got the positive test on Monday and concieved exactly two weeks before that. In my mind that makes me 2 weeks pregnant, but everything I've read says the count starts at the beginning of the cycle. So does this make me 4 weeks pregnant and in my fifth week?

To the best of my knowledge.
Hope that helps!!!!

You are due the day before me.

It does sound silly but that is how they count it.
I think that the logic is that the only date they can be "sure" of is the date of the beginning of your last cycle. You might not ovulate exactly on day14 and it's possible that fertilization was a day or 2 after ovulation, so they go with the day with the obvious marker (the red one). I am pg with our 3rd baby and with both ds1 & ds2 at their ultrasound they have moved my due date back one week. I have a 28 day cycle but seem to ovulate late.
Healthy pregnancies to all!

There are some different ways to calculate...

This site has different methods of calculation. I personally found the Wood's method the most accurate. I never had inductions, but birthed when it was time. Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone - it still seems strange to me to say that I'm 5 weeks pregnant when for the first two weeks there was no baby - but hey I guess I'll go with it. I still feel like I'm being some how untruthfull.

So when they say that this is how the baby is developing at 5 weeks, that also means 5 weeks into the pregnancy right and not the babys actual 5th week right?

IKWYM...

Thanks for the site by the way. It was the first one that gave me a due date that concurred with what I knew to be true {I have an average 29-30 day cycle}
