Any ideas on how to make the best of this last little bit of waiting? This off and on prodromal labor is making me crazy! I need creative ideas to keep my mind off of it.

Whimsy, I'm with you! The pain I am feeling in my hips made me sob yesterday in the shower until DH climbed in with me and held me. I can't do much about the pain -- and I intendn to cry still when I need to: but I am determined to have a better attitude about the WAIT -- the wait is healthy for my baby and my body right now (new mantra)>

Today, I've willed myself a complete change of attitude (we'll see how long it lasts -- probably till my hips make me cry again .... ). Anyway -- in this new attitude, I have decided to celebrate every moment of pregnancy, cause it really is ALMOST over -- it is INEVITABLE that I will have a baby in my arms before the month is over. So I put HANSON (!! that 90s young boy band) on the CD player and danced with my dog. Then I drank hot chocolate. Then I started a juicy new fun read -- the latest Helen Fielding.

I had to come in to work, but now I am ready to go home again.

I think the key is to not get bored. So I also cleaned the entire house, again. Some might say I'm nesting lol. I refuse, also, to pay attention to any more contractions until they DEMAND my attention.

Again -- this might not last long -- but I hope to dance, sing, and ignore the contractions all the way to my birth. It helped me so much, last night, to put a name on what's been happening -- "prodormal labor" -- not "stop-start" -- I was starting tot hink there was somethign wrong with me, like I couldn'tn progress -- now I"m just trying to honor the fact that my body is preparing me in the best and most appropriate way possible.

Oh, and I joined an AP group in my area, and called LLL.

HUGS to all mamas-in-waiting.

That's a great idea! I'm going to try that myself. If nothing else, it should help the emotional roller coaster I'm on!

Looks like you're a knitting mama...is your babe totally outfitted for the winter? Or have you seen the helper/needy mama thread? There are lots of women making gifts for kiddos for x-mas.

I'm makin' myself a 2nd nightgown -- with snaps down the chest for easy nursing -- to wear during/after labor. I'm wearing the 1st one & I love it. Totally comfy t-shirt jersey material.

Whimsy, we have the same due date and just this morning Dh had to hold me while I cried about how I can't stand being pregnant for anothering !@#*$ing minute. sigh.

I am working on staying positive but it is really hard. My only advice is get a book completly un related to babbies or birth and try to keep your mind on something else.

my good attitude lasted about 15 hours, lol.

then the pain caught up to me. BUT, dh liked my nice attitude so much that I'm trying to get myself together to be happy and sweet again soon.
