Are you really surprised?

I sure am not surprised. I don't watch ER but I've heard all about their crazy plots before. I WON'T be watching. It'll just make me too mad.

This isn't the first time they have let thier ignorance shine

Of course I'm pro homebirth but I also watch ER. I always have. It's in a hospital about doctors. Of course they're going to be anti homebirth. At least the women that have babies on their show nurse and not just for a few months. And they talk about nursing. There's worse shows out there.

i can't even watch that show cuz it makes me so mad. what is the big allure w/doctors. i hate the know-it-all/savior dr. thing.....maybe because it reminds me too much of reality??? wow, mystery solved. LOL

I've never been able to even finish watching an episode. ugh.

I watch but two shows/week and that's one of them. It's my "guilty pleasure". Of course I loved "Seinfeld" too.

We don't watch TV, so obviously I won't be watching. But being a mom of a "homebirth gone bad", we had a really positive experience with the hospital staff. They all knew dd was homeborn and were very supportive of our family. I think she actually got special attention because of it. We also had several nurses and residents tell us that the fact that she was born at home did not change dd's condition, and that she got the best care possible before getting to the hospital. (Hi there any ICN nurses for UCSF!!!) It certainly was dramatic, so I can see it being a subject for the show.

I dont watch that show anyways. The whole vax thing turned me off and I haven't seen it since.

Hhmmm... Since it IS Chicago it could be interesting to see... the practitioner in the 'homebirth gone bad' could be a doctor... they have that one group there. But I'm not gonna hold my breath on it! As a matter of fact I will be gearing up to defend myself and my choices on the entertainment chat site I go to where I expect to see a lot of 'What kind of selfish, backwards moron would risk their baby like that?'

er...

Dearest Mothering friends:

When a mother has an undrugged, uneventful, natural birth, doctors write in the record,..."UNREMARKABLE".

But..

When a mother plans a homebirth so that it can be undrugged and something goes wrong, NOW, that's entertainment.

What a sick culture we have.

I was a BIG fan for years. The vax thing really pissed me off though.

However, I'll admit, I still watch on occasion. Like next week - the GOO GOO DOLLS will be on! Hello!
