Favorite TV Families Growing Up? Role Model Families?

For better or worse, I pretty much grew up in front of the tv. While living in a pretty dysfuntional home, my escape was living vicariously through some TV families, like the Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie and the Bradys.

Any other favorite families out there in TV land?

The Ingalls were my FAVORITE! I think I was Laura Ingalls every year for Halloween for like five or six years in a row. I read the Little House books about a million times each. I also watched The Brady Bunch and was jealous of all the siblings. I only had a brother. Now I have the "Brady Bunch" in my home. It looked alot easier on TV!

I swear, I would be a different person today if I hadn't had the little house books to read and eventually the show to watch. Good wholesome values, and appreciation of the modern comforts and luxaries many of us enjoy now (like running water and refridgerators), that's what it instilled in me . Also:

OF course Leave it to Beaver !!

Family Ties
Eight is enough
The Simpsons !
The Dukes of HAzzard....well they had quite a sense of family anyways. And when I was a kid I loved that show, didn't think
it was cheesy at all.

I'm German and they were showing the Waltons, The little House in the Prairie and the Cosby Show over there...I LOVED them all but the Cosby's were my favorite TV family

The Ingalls without a doubt...Charles as a dad in particular !
Also loved The Promised Land family, can't remember their name though...

And The Cosbys
The Keatons
and right up there with the Ingalls, the Connors !!!

I LOVE the Waltons! Loved them as a child and still do. They are on TVLand every day at 1pm and I must admit that the kids and I sometimes watch while having lunch - we all love it!

Had a little trouble appreciating the family-ness of "Little House" 'cuz of the babe-ness of "pa." Though in retrospect I guess their gentle discipline techniques are coming up in my head sometimes nowadays ...

"My Three Sons."
"The Dick Van Dyke Show."
"All in the Family."

Those were my regular TV families.

Explains a lot, doesn't it. :LOL

Definitely Little House (there was a girl at our nieghborhood pool that looked JUST like Mary) and the Waltons. I have to admit, I had several friends who called my parents Mr. and Mrs. Keaton. We were pretty disgusting.
