Need links to articles taking apart studies on intact men, increased risk of disease

I am putting together a folder of materials for a pregnant relative. I know that she is most likely leaning towards circumcision, because her mother is a very mainstream nurse, she herself is in a very mainstream nursing school, and when I chose to keep my oldest son intact, I was blasted about it due to the "increased cervical cancer rates" of partners of intact men.

I would like some articles written by respectable MD's, if possible, denouncing the increased STD/cancer, intact male link.

Thanks.

I don't believe they exist. It would be like a respected scientist to write a scholarly article saying that little green men from Mars don't exist.

Proving that something doesn't happen is very difficult, much more difficult than putting together false information that shows that something does happen. Just look at all of the information about Roswell, NM and Area 51 and the supposed alien that was found near there in the early 1050's.

To understand how to counter this, you have to understand the human pappiloma virus (HPV) and it's part in the issue. HPV 16 is thought to be the main influence in the develpment of cervical cancer and probably penile cancer. The vast amjority of us have been exposed to HPV at sometime in our lives. The good news is that the vast majority of us also develop a natural immunity to it. It's just the very few who do not develop this natural immunity who get cervical cancer or penile cancer. More good news! The National Campaign for Cervical Cancer and HPV says that cervical cancer is virtually 100% curable. It requires a pap smear regularly. However, more good news! Early next year, there willl be a vaccine for those few people who do not develop a natural immunity. I know there will be some who reject the vaccine and if they do, they take their chances and the risk of their own decision. I also suspect that many men will also take the vaccine to protect their partners, again, their own decision. This is a far better route than cutting off genital parts of newborn babies.

I think the closest you'll get for some kind of retort is:

Penile cancer, cervical cancer, and circumcision

- and there might be something else you could use here -

Circumcision Information Pages

Hope This Helps.
