How often does your 9-10 month old bf?

My ds is totally different than my dd. My dd only wanted to nurse 2 times a day when she was his age (almost 10 months) and she always wanted to eat regular solid foods. Ds wants to nurse all the time...somedays he still nurses up to 7 times! (including waking once or twice at night to nurse) Just wanted to know what is "normal" for other babies about the same age out there. My ds will take regular food, but he just prefers to nurse for the most part. Anyone else with similar (or different) experiences with your kids?

My dd will be 10 mos on Tuesday and she nurses a lot. During the day, probably 10-20 times. Sometimes she'll nurse for a long time (like before naps) and sometimes just for a minute or two. Many days she doesn't eat any solid food, just nurses. During the night she usually wakes up 2-3 times to nurse.

Your dc is very normal!

My ds is 10 months and still nurses all throughout the day. He's not eating any solids, though, so he's getting everything from just breastmilk alone.

My dd is 9 mo old and eats 0-2 solid meals a day. One meal on average, once in a while 2 and 1/3 of the time- none. She bf to fall asleep at night, 2 Xs in the middle, once in am to wake up and maybe 3-4 times through out the day! So, I guess 8-10 times a day.

My DS is now 1 yo but at 9 - 10 months he was nursing about the same as he is nursing now, only he is a lot quicker now. He nurses every 2 - 3 hours and about 2 - 3 times at night.

My DS is 9 mo old, and he nurses 6-8 times a day, including once at night. He eats 0-2 solid meals a day. He is a very rapid nurser, most sessions are five minutes or less, but he gets a letdown and takes both sides each time.

My dd is 9 months and not interested in solids yet. She nurses probably 10-20 times a day. Really, it doesn't seem much different from when she was a newborn, except the nursings don't last as long, usually.

My 10.5 month old is still not very interested in solids. He has only this past week begun to have little bits of things with us at dinnertime. So he still nurses 8-10 times a day (I'm fudging a bit because I can't always remember if he's nursed at night and how often... )

My 9.5 month old nurses about 10 times a day (3 of those feedings at night) and is eating some solids. Mostly purees and yogurt--she isn't feeling the texture vibe yet (makes her gaggy).

my 9.5mo old nurses 12-18x in a 24hr peiod, usually closer to 18. she has no interest in solids, so its all breastmilk for her.
your DS sounds very normal!

My dd is a 10 months heading for 11 mo and think its about 10+ times she snacks a lot, recently she likes more solid food though but it was about 9 mo or so when she really wanted solids as long as she can feed herself. She was born the day before Joey there!

DD and DS were both 90-95+% bfed at a year, so at 9-10 months it was significantly less. Bmilk should still make up the vast majority of their diet at that point, so your DC sounds perfectly perfect

DD2 is 9mths and she nurses about 8 times. About 3-4 at night and about 4times during the day. She is eating solids but it's not always easy to get her to eat.
