Look at the dipe I made

Okay- I have been making dipes for over a year, but I learned something new yesterday and I made Rainey a dipe- Mostly we use prefolds, and I need some covers, however some very nice MDC mamas have been giving me some But, I was thinking I would sell my *namebrand* dipes to buy some covers and just make Rainey some fitted for the sitters- they are cheap for me to make.

So here is the pic of the dipe

And a photo of my new sly cat!

Did you ever think about making a few dipes to trade for covers on the tp?

Me too! My parents made me take shop since I already knew how to cook and sew and I was MORTIFIED. The only girl in the class - how humiliating.

Rainey is SOOOOO cute and I love the dipe. Can't you make some covers???

Rainey is a doll (and I LOVE her name!) and the dipe looks great on her. What kinds of fabrics did you use? Pattern? I have been making pocket dipes for my 14 month old, but i have now been officially put in charge of making my best friend's entire newborn/small stash : and i'm thinking maybe a one piece fitted with contianed soaker like that would be nice for a new, possibly overwhelmed mom, yk?

Thanks ladies, It is always nice to hear that your work looks good Makes a hormonal preggo mama feel much better about selling off all the other WAHMs stash I had to get money to buy things to make Rainey dipes that fit her

I found this site that has some great links http://users.ezwv.com/~gooding/diape...#sewingsources

And on this sight I saw a pattern that said try to sew the elastic in with the serge- I thought- "Why the heck have I not thought that??" So, I did it and it worked! It worked great- doesnt give you the frilly ruffles around the leg, but it went a billion times faster and looks great! I was pretty excited! I guess if you dont have a serger you could sew it in at the same time as you stich- I was pretty excited because I cut, sewed and elasticed all at once!

So tonight I got out the old navy fleece sweart shirt my sister give me for fabric, it got to fuzzy for- so I have had it for like a year, and tonight I made Rainey a cover, to see how easy it will be with wool- and it went super fast and it fits Rainey great- like little biker shorts- lol... It is not very thick so I dont know if it would be more than an around the house cover, but it was a good start and looks cute! I love when I make something for the first time and it looks good! Makes me feel like I really do know how to sew- even though I have no clue!

Rubidoux- I thank you for the complement on Rainey's name, she didnt have a name for 23 hours after she was born and we had not even talked about any name let alone Rainey- and I just love it too. Also, I am 28 weeks preggo so not only do I have to get this large stash together for Raineys growing body but I need to get my NB stach together for the new baby- does your friend like flats?

Try making some of these http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/angbir.../ph//my_photos

It is so simple- all you do is get a flat and take some fabric and cut it down to the soaker size- you know all the layers in the center, and sew it on- It is to die for they are so cute.

You can get NB prefold for $6.95/dz join this yahoo group- http://groups.yahoo.com/group/babyjunebugs/

Those prefolds are very cute. This is her first baby, so she doesn't know what she likes yet. I'll probably make sure she gets a variety. But she may very well end up some of those cute prefolds. I will check out those links, too.

If milo had been a girl, his name would've been corrina victoria rain, with rain being the last name for her and any future children even though neither i nor daddy were blessed with such a cool last name. But fil said the idea of it hurt his feelings, so milo ended up with the monsterous hyphenation after all. <<sigh>>
