i have no time or patience to make these at this time but i am looking for someone that would make me a few for christmas. (doesn't have to be the rockford socks) i know we are cutting it close but i just got this awesome idea, why not make the sock monkey into a rice warmer for kids OR filled with millet??? if anyone would like to do this for me for <$15 including shipping each please let me know asap!!! pm's are welcome!

I'm sitting here with a sock monkey pattern from Simplicity, but I have no idea where I can get the Rockford Red Heel socks - do they sell them in stores and are there alternate socks that would work? I just get tired of having to buy all my craft supplies over the internet!

I'm sure I've seen red-healed socks at Wal-Mart...

Vermont Country Store carries those socks, and with each pair comes instructions on how to make a monkey or a tiger or an elephant.

They're not difficult to do at all. It's all hand sewing, or at least that's how I did the tiger and snow leopard I made years ago.
