Showing off -- look at these fun jammies!

I am a relative newbie when it comes to sewing, but I have jumped in with both feet these last few months. A friend of mine showed me a picture of some jammies she liked, but they were $30 a pair... I figured I could make ones just like them for waaaaaay cheaper.

Take a look, they came out sooo cute!

Sesame Street jammies
Retro Xmas ladies jammies -- I love these... if only I had a girl I'd make a pair for myself!
DS modeling Christmas jammies -- the fabric says things like "Peace", "Joy", "Noel", etc.
DS models cowboy jammies -- these were the first ones I made. Joey seems to like them!

Those are adorable!!!! I would just wear them as clothes. They are way too cute to save for just bedtime!

Wow - great job! Really, those are too cute. If my ds still wore onesies, I'd be all over that pattern.

I'm actually ordering some blank white l/s t-shirts from Dharma Trading so I can make some for my nephews, who are a little older. I'm spending about $6 each plus 2 yards of fabric (which I already had) to make two pairs, and my sister is going to be thrilled. Not a bad price for a cool gift!

Thanks for the compliments everyone! I had to post here because I'm a little jammie-crazy at the moment and my DH has stroked my ego enough, I think (hence the )

Maybe it's a really easy question/answer but how did you do the patch on the front of the shirts? I just love how that ties them together! I think I'd like to do some shorts/shirts combos like that.

By the way, it's 83 here currently.

The patch just *looks* hard.

I used that iron-on adhesive strip stuff to make my life a lot easier.

Cut a rectangle a little larger than what you want, then trim the corners off. Fold back the sides about 1/4 inch and press. Use the adhesive tape to secure.

Use more adhesive tape to secure the patch to the shirt (just a little in a couple of places so it doesn't slip around).

Finish the patch by zig-zag stitching around the outside. (I don't have a serger so I have to zig-zag. )

What a cute little boy! I love the jammies too!

BTW,you wouldn't use a serger to attach a patch anyway. And Jenn, if your zig zag still doesn't work, just do what Marisa said but straight stitch instead.

See, I'm such a serger dunce. I only know that I'm gonna want one someday.

mamma2kaden -- I've actually sold a couple of pairs to some friends when they saw how well they came out. The two pairs of Christmas jammies are on their way to "customers" right now. It's nice to have a little extra money, and of course fuel my all-consuming fabric habit.

LOVE EM! What pattern did you use for the pants? I'm thinking I could whip out a set for my youngest dd that has almost nothing under the treee yet.

super cute! You should try and find some WonderUnder, it's great fusible webbing with paper on one side that lets you turn any fabric into an iron-on. You can cut any shape you like and it presses on perfectly smooth, no need to turning under the edges. I was way into appliques at one time, I'd use yards and yards of the stuff You'll flip when you try it!

Happy -- I used a Kwik-Sew toddler pattern, I adhered to it pretty closely (usually I go off on a tangent even when I do use a pattern. ) I got it online for very cheap, only a couple of dollars, but this looks good too:

40 toddler patterns for under $15. I may have to look into that.

rubelin -- oh good! More sewing stuff to spend money on! It sounds great, I will have to check it out.
