Gifts to make for men?

Ok, I still have nothing made for my husband, and it's 10 days to Christmas. Eek! Please help me with some ideas. He's very hard to buy for, almost impossible really, as he has everything he needs/wants and isn't into a lot of stuff. Same rule goes with making stuff for him.

Last year I made him a fleece hat and scarf, flannel boxers (way too big disaster) and a quilt (which still isn't finished). I was going to knit him a scarf, but my mother made him a scarf, hat and slippers.

Any ideas?

I saw a nifty felted laptop case at www.craftster.org. I think that the poster found the pattern in the Knit Wit book (by the editor of Knitty.com)...I find that most guys are impossible to gift. I do think that they like things that they know - but with a twist. What hobbies does he have?

He coaches basketball, loves sports (but doesn't collect sports things), adores our daughter , likes to cook (he's an awesome cook!), loves music...

A couple of ideas I've come up with:
- burn a CD of his favourite songs from our collection
- put together a photo story of him and our daughter
- use iron-on transfers for a "my daddy is..." themed t-shirt, or maybe a throw quilt
- a sore muscle salve (anyone have recipes?)
- a dry scalp shampoo (again, recipes?)

Hmmm... Ok, that's more than I thought I had! :LOL

Food. Cookies, candies he wouldn't normally get for himself, flavored butters for his toast......
Or, if you want to sew something, try pajama pants. I don't think you could sew anything easier, and guys always seem to need them!

Great ideas on the food stuff Stell, but he doesn't eat sweets! So really, I'd be stuck eating all those yummy treats myself. Hmmm... He'll eat shortbread cookies, so I really should do that.

Pajama pants are a great idea, and I do have a super simple pattern here and loads of yummy flannel. Thanks!

Last year my toddler and I made a mouse pad out of those flat foam sheets for dh...it's more of a gift from the kid, but it's something he uses.

If you're into the food ideas, spicy snack mix or candied nuts is a big hit. For my brothers who live on their own, I do baking mixes- so all they have to do is add one or two ingredients.

I made dh a fancy looking cable-knit hat. It was actually pretty easy but I know he will like it.

How about a kitchen apron with the "my Daddy is" theme?

Or some home made potholders or an oven mitt?

Love the mouse pad idea too! We'll do that as a craft this week.
