Is it possible to attach an iron-on applique to pul?

I don't expect ironing it on to be an option, but I'm listening if anyone can tell me different.

Would sewing be an option? I assume I'd have to take measures to seal up the holes where its sewn...

My friend does this with her homemade PUL diapers and tells me she's never had a problem with it. I've not tried it personally but am going to after Christmas. I could let you know then!
