I have a new project finished...except for the french knots. It's been awhile since I've done any cross stitch and I forget how to make them! They aren't working!! I've read instructions for how to make them but they don't help. Any tips??

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

I had terrible trouble learning french knots myself, so either this will or won't be helpful: bring your needle up through the fabric where you want the knot to be, then wrap the needle clockwise one or two times to get the thread around it, now carefully push the needle back through just a tiny space next to where you came up. This should make the knot. HTH

Yeah, what saphire said...I just learned how to do these finally after trying for years. Nobody had every told me to push the needle down through a different spot than where I came up, so my just kept pulling through and knotting the thread!

If you run the thread under your thumb as it goes back in it will help keep the knots "tighter", too.
