Finished Hat pictures!

Thanks for all the ideas yesterday! I ended up just knitting it up and then stopped before it was long enough to knot. I really liked how it was looking, and I was hoping for a whimsical look, since Aislyn looks so petite and elfish, I wanted something that fit her in that aspect. Its too big, but I had wanted it that way so it'd fit for a long time, should next winter for sure. I didnt use a pattern, just did it as I went through, did write down most of the pattern til the end, when I was too lazy to refind the envelope I wrote it on. :LOL I knit it with 2 strands of yarn so its super warm and soft!

Here are pictures:

I started a really fluffy hat for Arianna, just need to decrease it now. This yarn is so soft and fluffy, but it gets tangled way too easy.

Oh my gosh, that little elf in her hat is too cute! Both your babes are adorable and so lucky to have such a talented mama. Do tell what yarn you used and where you got that pretty rainbow color that you made the i-cord out of. I love it!

Ah & I love your sons name too! Quite a good name!

Thanks Mamas for all the compliments, I think the kiddos are ofcourse adorable, and I love the hats! I was so excited and proud of them, but not many to share it with. :LOL

As for yarn, for the purple hat it was Lions Brand Homespun. The pink hat is also Lions, but I dont know what kind. The kids always run off with the little tags and this one got threw out after the youngest chewed it, yuck. Its a thin fluffy/feathery type yarn. I can take a picture of it as a strand if you'd like. And all yarn was bought at my home, er Hobby Lobby! I feel like I should live there though after all my visits!

Hm, too bad there's no Hobby Lobby in my state... but I checked out their website and this was the closest I could come to that rainbow one you have. http://www.craftsetc.com/Storage/Pro...ges/336867.jpg Does that look right? I think I've seen the pink at my lys before, soo cute. And why is it that kids love to chew tags :LOL mine does it all the time too.

Oh I forgot to answer for the rainbow yarn, its just fishermans dyed with some KA. It was leftover from some longies I made.

Ariannas hat I just winged, I cast on 60 stitches I believe and just knit it up. When it fit her head good, I begin decreasing I think I started decreasing every 4, then every 3, knit a row, etc. :LOL very basic. It has a tiny little knob on the top like her sisters. Because she HAD to have it like Aislyn's. I made it so that it was quite rolled up when I did the measuring of it on her head so that she could have it nice and rolled, pull it down further in the back and over her ears, and ofcourse get more use out of it, incase her head grows this winter.

I looked at that site you gave for the yarn, and that isnt what I used, but I found the one I did use. Its the polarspun: http://www.craftsetc.com/Storage/Pro...ges/131052.jpg
I knit it double to make it more thick.

Oh man, one of these days I'll get the guts to dye some yarn. I just love the colors of that rainbow and I'm not usually a 'rainbow person'(whatever that is...). I think I'm scared of the mess, but I've been told it's fun. Thanks mama, you've inspired me!
