considering no-poo, advice for thin hair in dry climates

Hi all. I am intrigued by the no-poo idea - this is the first time I've heard about it. I have fine (read frizzy) dry long hair and live in a very dry climate. any suggestions for what might be best for this kind of hair?? Proportions etc. for acv and bs as well as other ingredients that I might want to try??
I like to wash my hair every day (finding showers theraputic) but only get to every other day now that I'm a mom.

thanks,
gisele

I think the best anyone can do is to jump in & experiment You're not signing anything in blood by giving it a try.

Since your hair's already dry, I'd suggest using a very weak bs mixture at first, maybe combining it with honey or egg yolk. I'd concentrate on cleaning the scalp, not the length or the ends of the hair. I'd experiment with oiling (there's a bunch of threads here about it) and I'd deep condition when my hair seemed to need it -- some suggestions are a coconut milk soak, a warm oil treatment, or various mixtures of honey, egg, oil, banana, plain yogurt & avocado. (You might try doing a search on the words coconut, oil, condition.)

Also washing once very other day is probably actually *better* for your hair -- I know when I wash too frequently my roots get oilier, but my ends get dryer & more damaged. If I lived in a dry climate I'd probably be stretching out the time between washes as much as possible.

Good luck!
