Relocating for Waldorf School...

I'm very interested in sending my son to waldorf school - however, there are none in our area. I've been researching other locations that have waldorf schools, and my husband and I are considering relocating (for many reason, waldorf only being one).
My question is - Does anyone have personal experience with any waldorf schools in the following locations? (looking for any hints/tips/pros/cons)
Portland OR, Seattle WA, St.Paul MN, Minneapolis MN, Upstate NY/Hudson, Bethesda MD
or
Does anyone highly recommend a waldorf school in another location? I'm also trying to find out information about waldorf inspired schools - charters, or just schools that are similar to waldorf ideals...

We were considering moving initally so that we could rebuild our life on one income - however, I'm thinking if we pick waldorf, I may not be able to afford not to work...

One more question - are there other message boards out there specifically for waldorf?

Any ideas would be most appreciated...

The information about how mailing lists work is a bit basic, but hey, it does tell you how to join and how to access the archives.

The Waldorf list, e-mail only, has a few hundred members. It would be a good place to post your inquiry about the various schools you are considering. I've visited one of the schools and heard bits and pieces about some of the others, but I don't have anything recent enough or direct enough to be useful.

My ds goes to Olympia Waldorf School. We live in Tacoma but plan on moving to Olympia this coming summer. I really have fallen in love with Olympia....we spend most days to avoid the commute. We love our school! Just wanted to give you another place to think about between Portland and Seattle.

Also wanted to say that the cost of living in Oly is cheaper and I think the tuition is abour 1/2 of what it is in Seattle.

I have heard some really good things about the Olympia school. We have a family at our school who also went to Olympia and they just absolutely loved it.

Sandpoint Waldorf School

We have had a great experience with Sandpoint Waldorf School in Sandpoint, Idaho. Also offers lovely community, large farmer's market, two healthfood stores, big lake, excellent ski mountain, thriving arts & culture in a relatively small town.
