Hi all!

I just wanted to share our acupuncture adventure.

DD is 6 years old and we have been battling eczema since she was about 9 months old. Last week she had her first acupuncture treatment! We are all excited and have our fingers crossed hoping it works. We will keep you posted!

greenluv,

I am anxious to hear the results. Keep us posted.
We are always on the lookout for remedies for eczema.

greenluv - do keep us informed!

Dh is an acupuncturist AND our dd has eczema. We've found relief with homeopathy, fortunately, since dd is too young for needles. Dh has never treated a child as young as your dd - how did she handle it? I'm curious to know when our dd will be ready/interested in having acupuncture. She likes to watch me have it, but doing it to her I'm sure would be a whole other story!

Hope it goes well for your dd!

I started acupuncture when I was 12 for severe eczema. It was the only thing that worked. It was a long term treatment, but soooo worth it.

a little update...

I must say that so far I am impressed with the results!

Dd has several places on her skin that were raw and quite broken down, but after her second treatment they have closed and now all we have left are the places where she scratched from the itching.

The Dr. doing the acupuncture has also never had a child as young as dd to treat. He tells her each time he treats her that he is impressed with her desire to get rid of the eczema.

Dd handles the needles just fine. We spent 2 weeks talking about before she ever had a treatment and the Dr. also showed her what he would do by "treating" himself so she could see what it would look like. We also made sure that she had a choice, if she tried it once and hated it or found that it hurt she never had to do it again. Dd says it doesn't hurt, and wants to continue. What a brave kid!

My son is 2 and I had him treated yesterday by my acupuncturist for Eczema from what I think is a nut allergy.

I was surprised and how calm my very spirited son was. First the Dr. just sat at talked with both me and DS while I had my treatment. Then I asked her to examine his stomach while he sat in his troller. Then she asked him to lay on his stomach, which he did (with his teddy bear!) and she rubbed the skin along his spin until she found some congestion and then did one needle.

DS didn't even flinch - he was very relaxed (and my son is SPIRITED!) And that was it. We are going to do about 3 more sessions.

We plan to do 10 sessions in all. We can hardly wait until we get to the end to see what the results will be. It's a little early yet, but I suspect I am going to be a big advocate of acupuncture!

We just tried acupuncture!

I took my son, who is 3 years old to get acupuncture done for his eczema. We have tried so many things in the past, to no avail. But I really think that the acupuncture is working. His skin is soft and smooth, he doesn't itch as much as usual. I am looking forward to all that is to come. We are going back in a week so that the doc can see his improvements.
